    The brunch was delicious. I had a bacon and fontina cheese omelette which was fluffy and full of bacon. My husband’s eggs Benedict was perfect. Service was excellent, waitress was friendly and attentive

    In June 2024, the online menu selection and pricing did not match the actual menu (No Scallops, and pricing, such as for starters and Salads were more in person. The staff really tried to be responsive and were very friendly - - -I appreciated them. Probably could do without the politics of "Pride Month" promotions at the table....

    I was in town for a conference and selected the Commoner based on the good reviews and proximity to the conference hotel for a dinner meeting. When we arrived, we discovered that it was in the Kimpton hotel down the block. The hostess and wait staff were good but the food was just okay — not bad just okay. I had the salmon and it was tasty but very light on the vegetables that came with it - two small pieces of asparagus and 2 small slivers of zucchini. One colleague had the chicken and she also had 2 small pieces of asparagus. If you are looking for a balanced meal, you definitely need to order a side salad bc the vegetables are minimal when you order an entree — which makes for an overpriced dining experience.

    I had really high expectations from word of mouth but I didn’t feel like the food was any different than any other new age brunch place. Standard waffles, standard coffee, I didn’t try much else.

    Always a good meal! The Commoner may be one of the most reliable restaurants in the city. Everything is excellent. I had a steak, sous vide, then charred Pgh style with a wonderful sauce and a little bowl of beautiful little redskin potatoes. The wine list is impressive and service is attentive without being overbearing. An easy walk to the Cultural District. It's our "go-to" downtown...

    We chose the Commoner because it's in our hotel. My wife has trouble walking. From that stand point, I recommend it. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The menu is pretty limited. That's not a bad thing if the food is wonderful. I had a wedge salad. It left a burnt after-taste in my mouth. My wife had a Caesar salad. She had some small complaint as well. We didn't get an entre'. Back in our room, we scanned the web for other options. We discovered the the Commoner has off-menu entrées. We went back and had dinner.

    My husband and I have enjoyed the Commoner many times.Our guest was a “first timer”. She loved the breakfast sandwich along with the fruit and yogurt while commenting on the unique setting.
