Located in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon, on Rother Street, it boasts over 475-years of history between its characterful walls. Recently refurbished, the welcoming décor pays tribute to Stratford’s most famous former resident, William Shakespeare as well as incorporating a nod to its owners, the historic Brewing House, Davenports which was established in 1829. You can expect great ales, whilst the attractive central bar is well-stocked with popular spirits and boasts a super cocktail menu which are freshly prepared to order. Choose to dine in the comfy snug or around one of the tables indoors, there’s also a wonderful garden terrace with heaters to the rear, and alfresco tables on warmer days to the front of the pub. The food menu never fails to impress, with a focus on quality, locally sourced ingredients.

The website offered outdoor dining - but did not tell us that the space is very small and doubles as the smoking area. 2 of the 4 tables were occupied by very loud, heavily-smoking guests, completely spoiling our enjoyment. The food was ok but not special and there was little effort made with presentation. The staff were pleasant but it was a disappointing experience.

Fantastic place, fabulous food, drinks and service and really accessible (powered wheelchair user). We we definitely be back!

Had the fish goujons sandwich - gorgeous as usual. Had to leave some of the bread as couldn’t eat it all!

I had to send my food back, steak was rubbery and inedible. Chips were greasy. The starters were lovely so when the mains came out it was so disappointing. Service was slow so there was no time to ask for a replacement meal due to us going to the theatre. They did give us a full refund. We did book a table but I had the feeling that had one not been reserved for us. Mixed seating with drinkers and food customers so felt a little bit uncomfortable sat next to a gentleman who was a little worse for wear. Would not recommend.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food was served hot & altogether(8 meals), and tasted delicious. Will be back and highly recommend

First time we went to The Coach House. Very crowded when we walked in as it was the England, Wales Rugby match. Although busy service excellent & food very good.
