There are a wide variety of restaurants in Ludlow, but Clive Arms stands out if you want traditional British food that makes the most of Ludlow’s local ingredients.

Our food is inspired by the seasonal produce of Shropshire and our surrounding counties. Many of our ingredients are handmade at Ludlow Farmshop. Our meat is reared in the fields surrounding us on the Earl of Plymouth’s Oakly Park Estate and is prepared by the award winning butchers at Ludlow Farmshop

Please note, we do add a 12.5% discretionary service charge onto the bill for groups of six or more.

First time lunching here, would definitely come again. Not pushy but efficient service, lovely food, good choices on lunch menu and as everything was very good, excellent value for money. An exceptionally tasteful dining room, as is the whole hotel.

The Clive is outstanding for food, We had the butchers choose steak which was flatiron, cooked exactly how we like it, perfect. The starter’s amazing- I had the blue cheese pate and husband soup, both lovely. We both had the baked cheese cake, just perfect, We done here often and it’s always good.

Everything was obviously freshly cooked. Food very tasty. Plenty of gluten free options for my partner. Server was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

Afternoon tea was amazing. Lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes with a bit of a twist. Will have to try the Gentleman’s afternoon tea next.

The quality of the food was good, but the portion size was small. I ordered Tuna Nicoise as a main course & at £19.50, was very expensive for the amount of food on my plate! I also ordered 175ml of wine, however I’m sure it was only 125ml as it looked exactly the same quantity as my friend’s smaller glass. I should have questioned it!

Staff were very attentive when we visited Friday lunchtime. Service was prompt but we did not feel rushed. My group had the fish and chips and the chicken followed by the Summer berry pudding and the cheeseboard which were all excellent. Tables are nicely spaced out and noise levels are comfortable. All of my group of four thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Many thanks.
