There’s truly something for everyone on the menu, from bar snacks and kids’ dishes, to our famous Sunday roasts. Plus, you can rest assured that everything on the menu is sampled, and the suppliers are personally vouched for, by Ben, Ed and Adam – a tough job, but someone has to do all that tasting!

Lovely Sunday roast - my partner and I had a lovely time and will definitely return. Staff very friendly and service was great

Very disappointing. We came to have a traditional Sunday roast no big expectations. We were presented with a bowl (a roast dinner served in a bowl???) with all the food piled up on top of each other and a really watery gravy at the bottom. Potatoes were soggy since they were drenched in the liquid but the worst bit was the meat. They state it is Aberdeen Angus 30 months matured beef but it was the worst ever cut you could find, so nervy we could not cut it with steak knives and when you tried chewing it it was like rubber. We had to spit it out. Also lots of vein tubes visible, it put me off completely. Sorry to be so graphic but you could have choked on it. Disgusting. What a rip off.

Super pub food and lovely atmosphere in friendly local pub. Great selection of IPAs also!

This pub is a weird one - it's either really quiet often at times you wouldn't expect (eg. Saturday afternoon) or really busy and noisy. In neither of these scenarios though would I want to sit inside where unfortunately for an old pub the place is completely void of any atmosphere. The food is quite good, would rate it a 4/5. Wine list is very average - would definitely rather go for a beer here. Outdoor space is quite nice. Essentially, come here either for beer and food on a nice day. Otherwise, you're better off going to the Carlton Tavern.
