Welcome to the Clarendon Tavern! Offering seasonal, locally sourced and handmade ingredients. Beautifully designed to embrace our heritage building roots with a modern twist. Went for happy hour, only ordered happy hour items only to find out that they had a special on and happy hour wasnt a thing that day. Food was alright probably will not be back

The food service and ambiance were great except for one thing that would make me hesitate to go back and sit on the patio. Chairs are very uncomfortable. No padding at all and really hard. Many seniors have back issues. Most of us there were seniors. Have some cushions at least. I asked…there were none. That was poorly done.

I was a little surprised at the food quality - not. My cod dish was way over-salted as were the fish and chips. My husband's coffee was very weak. The pizzas were better especially the prosciutto and fig. The service was attentive and good but the plating fee (for my own birthday cake) went from the quoted $3 to $5. The former price was an error even though a manager had authorized it. I thought the Clarendon should have honoured the $3 which they did not. I would only go back to the Clarendon for a beer and pizza and only if I was in the Byward Market.

We had dinner (party of 4) on a Friday, and generally enjoyed our time there; place is nice with a good vibe, especially the dining room at the back where we were located. Salads ordered as appetizers were good and reasonably priced for the size, particularly the warm goat and squash; burger was very plain and way overpriced - I would stay away from it. On the drinks side, nice cocktails list (I tried the Clarendon Club - ok but not great) and a few good options for wine by the glass. Good service throughout. Overall, I probably would go back if in the area.

The service and location on the patio was great. The craft drinks were very good as well. The only disappointment was the sirloin was one of the toughest steaks I’ve ever had. The taste was excellent but they should serve better quality meat. I have to add the korean gochgang wings were excellent.

Very nice setting….food was decent but not exceptional. Service was good,waiter was attentive however we were dining around 6:00 and the room we were in had only two tables with customers so he didn’t pop in very often as I had a request to complete my meal. In addition, the table was coated with colourful stains that were clearly there for awhile as the server had to work up a sweat to remove!

I went for a dinner with friends and we were treated so well by all staff. They were very friendly and attentive. The food and ambience were perfection. We will be back!
