We were a party of four and were dining prior to attending a concert at the Castle. The pub was packed to the rafters, inside and out, with lots of diners. Despite this we were quickly seated on the quieter upper floor, drinks ordered and speedily delivered. Food was excellent, really high quality and again delivered far quicker than I was expecting given how busy the pub was. All staff were very welcoming and chatty which greatly enhanced our enjoyment of a very pleasant meal. The upstairs area where we were sat was simply and tastefully furnished as well as being spotlessly clean (as were the toilets). All in all a real find, we will return and highly recommend.

Booked for 17:00 even though we arrived almost 30 mins early, and the pub/restaurant was busy, we were shown to the table. Service was excellent. Staff attentive, glasses cleared quickly (and refilled). Fish and chips got a thumbs up, steak pies and veg excellent (Even a jug of extra gravy was provided when asked), not a criticism, as everyone now seems to serve burgers in ‘Brioche buns’ which we all find too sweet. So bun left but chicken burger eaten!

As always a great place in the centre of Ludlow to eat. Very friendly staff always ready to oblige.

Lovely building overlooking the Church and the Buttercross. Service was good. Roast chicken supreme was perfectly cooked. However, roast potatoes were too fatty and the gravy very salty. Husband opted for dressed crab and chips decorated with a few leaves. Needed to order a side salad and a freshly baked roll as extras.

Had the 3 Pork option, whilst the meal was nice the amount of mashed potato was ridiculously small, 3 small piped blobs. Why be so mean? My wife had a buger and fries. Had a bottle of white wine and the total cost came to £60, not good value for what was served

Made a last minute booking but was all fine. The barman was very welcoming and efficient. The food was very good and very hot. I had a delicious beef pie, my husband picked a vindaloo pie and really enjoyed it. Pub had a nice feel and was busy but not too noisy.
