    I went for my partners birthday and the service was amazing. He was given a birthday card and even a free birthday dessert which we was not expecting. The staff were all so friendly and personable which really made a big positive impact on our experience. The food was beautiful, loved that we were also situated right beside a Cherry Blossom tree. 10/10 dining experience, can't wait to visit again.

    The restaurant was relatively quiet when we arrived so we were immediately shown to our table. Our waitress introduced herself and took a drinks order and this was the last we ever saw of her. I had to ask for our drinks again when the starter arrived. We both ordered the Sunday lunch with beef. My wife ordered hers well done and I ordered mine pink and without the mash potatoes. When my food arrived I noticed immediately that the beef was very rare. Not what I ordered at all but let’s carry on; it was only when I tried to eat it that I also realised that it was incredibly fatty and very difficult to chew and therefore eat. It was at this point that I noticed that in leaving off the mash potato I now only had two roast potatoes! The final straw was the over cooked Yorkshire pudding that simply disintegrated into dust when I cut it! £27 for a Sunday lunch is at the high end of what you expect to pay for Sunday lunch but in doing so you expect much better than this. I would like to point out that I have been eating at The Cherry Tree for a long time and this is the first bad experience I have ever had. I would also like to thank the manager for taking the time to come over and inspect the food before removing it from the bill.

    So utterly disappointed with here. We dined for a 40th and opted for the afternoon tea. We've dined here for lunch and dinner many a time but this time was like a different place: Service - waitress was abrupt, couldn't crack a smile and un attentive. Another waitress took our money and didn't give us our £6 change! Kept having to flag the waiters down as they didn't seem to want to to attend to our table. Afternoon tea food- salmon sandwiches were wet with fish juice, egg sandwiches were like they'd been sitting around and gone stale and the beef on bread was rock solid. I have never had a worse selection of savories at an afternoon tea, than here. Cakes were okay, but clotted cream came in a jar and was warm. 6 of us dined, all 6 of us agreed it was poor. Wasn't asked about whether we enjoyed it. Also waited a while for it to arrive so didn't want to spoil the birthday completely and send it all back. We would have if it wasn't a special occasion. Fair to say this wasn't a true representation of food we've had on a normal menu. Very disappointing especially when I recommended to go here and this was 3 of my friends first experiences.

    On arrival greeted very well and we decided to have drinks in the bar area. We approached the bar which was not staffed then a waiter came over and took our order. Probably 10 minutes passed and no drinks. MUCH prefer to order at the bar and get drinks immediately!! Everything else lovely ; atmosphere, serving staff, quality of food . Wine prices EXTORTIONATE which is a pity because it puts me off coming for all the other wonderful things the Cherry Tree offers.

    Way too much food for us. Had the a al carte menu and got a 20% discount. Chicken and ham hock pot pie was amazing. My guest had the chicken skewer. Portions are huge and the food is amazing.

    Excellent service from arrival to departure. Lovely friendly staff. Great food and service. Had the sharing platter which was gorgeous and great value for money
