Fabulous experience.Greeted by friendly staff, ambience was busy , a warm period pub.The menu delivered all you could want for on a Sunday lunch.The tastes in the sirloin of beef, yorkshire pudding and fresh vegetables were mouth watering. We will be back.Well done The Chequers team.

We had to get up from the table to chase up our drinks which arrived well after the food had been served.

Always so cheery a wonderful atmosphere and staff keen to please. Fabulous food and service and decor of pub is so improved .

Absolutely excellent all round. Live my fun and tonic, great wine. Recommend the calves liver!

We always enjoy going to The Chequers and generally the food is good, albeit on the pricey side. Our American friend chose the Shredded Pork with Burt Apple sauce but the meat was tough and just too dry while the apple sauce was very bland. Our dog enjoyed it but it was too dry for us.

The food at The Chequers is really fantastic and I think has got even better since it was taken over a little while ago. A real focus on quality and really is cooking at some of its best in this area. The beer garden is a gem, though weather permitting!

We popped in for lunch on the way back from the New Forest and what a great find! Idyllic location, amazing food and fantastic service. The decor is very tasteful and the table settings very attractive. Great attention to detail everywhere you look. Both the house Gazpacho and the crispy shredded pork starter with burnt apple sauce is worth driving a few hundred miles for. Our waitress Vitoria(?) was lovely and looked after us very well.
