High quality food from a varied menu. Great variety of excellent wines to suit all palates and requirements. The service here was fabulous. However, we were told by our waitress there was no accessible toilet yet the website states that there is one available. Would definitely eat here again with another friend.

Excellent Sunday roast beef lunch at the Chequers. Table was in a quiet part of the inn, service friendly, value good

The quality of the food as always was excellent. The restaurant was very stuffy and no windows open to allow any air to circulate. As a result we decamped to the garden and swerved puddings. Service was a bit hit and miss. I wasn’t allowed a pint of orange and lemonade so has a smaller glass. I was gasping for another, but the girl didn’t offer until after mains. I could face waiting at the bar. For reasons unknown the girl took the sides plates away even though it was a very large table and we had nowhere to put the bread. Price of menu of top notch - the food was exceptional the Chef is excellent. The service was not upto the normal high standard, so left politely smiling but actually disappointed.

We enjoyed our lunch and decided to sit in the restaurant as it was very hot outside. However it was stuffy as no a/c or windows open. The thump thump background music was not relaxing the service a bit slow.

Great pub, very good staff, just had the Chequers burger which was very good. They use a great local butcher so you know the meat will always be top drawer !
