Nestled in the Norfolk village of Hainford, you’ll find beautiful, exposed beams, authentic stone floors and open fire places inside this 18th Century thatched country pub & dining room.

A country pub through and through serving local ales, artisan spirits and a menu full of the best seasonal produce curated by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team. Interesting menu with a little bit different here and there amongst good old classics. Very reasonably priced good portions. Triple choc brownie was declared epic! Lovely atmosphere. Local ales and all around good evening. £176 for 5 incl drinks and 3 courses for 4, menu du jour 2 courses for £25 for one. Service very good despite being a quiz night and a bit busy! However non quizzers seated in a different area so didn’t impinge on our evening.

This is the second time we have tried the Table du Jour and on both occasions the choice was good, the food tasty, excellent and well presented. No ping cuisine here. Alice made no fuss but willingly helped my friend and her wheelchair get comfortable at the table.

Went to the Chequers today for the first time in about 15 years and must say it was still as good as I remember. My husband and Mum had the Sunday roast which looked and apparently tasted lovely. I had the Liver and it was really good. Would definitely recommend and will be back. All the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Food was very nice and service very good. It was just a shame having pre-booked for a birthday meal that we were told on arrival that several of the main menu options were unavailable leaving a very limited choice. Had we have known beforehand we probably would have cancelled and gone elsewhere.

We went there as a couple and I had the chicken on the 2 course menu and was very nice and my partner had the burger . Very nice ! will be back

Overall a pleasant experience. Staff attentive. Only comment that I would make is that the rugs need to either be thrown away or cleaned

Awesome food as always! Regular here! Went for Fathers Day yesterday was great! Big group of us no issues what so ever. Staff and Food brilliant cannot fault ever!

We went out for Fathers Day my husband ordered the liver and bacon, the liver was tough and inedible, the rest of the meal was fine. We did tell the waitress.
