Welcome to The Chequers, Hainford | Country Pub & Dining Room | We're opening on the 17th June. Come back soon to see our new menu, crafted by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team.

Nestled in the Norfolk village of Hainford, you’ll find beautiful, exposed beams, authentic stone floors and open fire places inside this 18th Century thatched country pub & dining room.

A country pub through and through serving local ales, artisan spirits and a menu full of the best seasonal produce curated by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team. Really delicious food. Good value for money and the staff were happy to put the fire on as the evening was chilly. Definitely returning again soon!!!

The mussel starter was delicious. We all had different mains but we were all pleased with the quality and quantity. Excellent choice of ales.

Wonderful cosy place with a roaring fire. Greeted by friendly and helpful staff who looked after us the whole evening. The food was beautifully presented and of a very high quality. We were a party of six and will all be returning.

Excellent service and food. We felt it was very good value, the food was superb, the service was attentive without being over bearing. Would certainly go again.

I have had many good meals at the Chequers, but this was not one. Rabbit terrine starter was flavourless, ended having burger for main out of desperation. Other choices were all game based which didn’t work with starter. Only so. Other diners and staff started closing up at 21:20. Had a cheese board for dessert, but the only port available was white, then ordered brandy and was served plum brandy! Staff were very young, untrained and unsupervised, they didn’t even know the difference between ale and lager! On a positive both server’s were very polite and the mussel starter was excellent.

Great meal. Very accommodating for my 102 year grandmother. Brooke was a particularly great hostess. My only gripe is that they can’t accept tips via the card machine. We had cash but the staff must be loosing out on a lot of tips. Great experience all round.
