Good food, great staff, in a nice environment, at fair prices. Nothing to complain about. Will be going back and would definitely recommend.

Sunday lunch in the bar…everything was outstanding..service, food quality, food choice and ambience could not fault anything…possibly the best Sunday lunch we have had in a long time. Recommend the mains of the beef and the chicken and desserts of the blackberry crumble and the crème brûlée …. Will be back for more.

Came for my birthday mum with elderly mother and children . Had booked table in bar by mistake . Asked to move to Restaurant . This was swiftly sorted . Good excellent . Great service . Everyone very attentive . We will be back

Saturday lunch in the bar, staff as always warm, friendly and efficient....drinks order taken without delay and menus provided showing a few changes from our last visit. I elected for the chicken and mushroom pie with cabbage, mashed potato and carrot served with a delicious gravy which brought the whole dish together...my wife had the cod on a seafood chowder with a very spicy flatbread (maybe too spicy), she really enjoyed it all but would have preferred more cream in the chowder to give it more depth.....however all devoured. Another really enjoyable lunch, Henry and staff maintain such a high standard.

We loved our visit to 'The Chequers', and will definitely be returning if we visit the area again. The food was incredible! We visited with our spaniel, and the dog-friendly bar was comfortable and accommodating.

Excellent choice of ales on draught. Very interesting and varied menu. Well prepared and excellently presented food. Very good evening. Will definitely be returning.
