Since 2006, multi award winning chef Steven Sanderson has been delighting his customers with a beautiful selection of delicious dishes that offer traditional values with a modern twist.

Come and relax within our 400 year old inn beneath the ancient beams, and enjoy your meal in contemporary decor near an open fire that burns throughout the year.

We opened 9 new boutique rooms in 2019 and these, together with the restaurant, means that The Chequers at Burcot in South Oxfordshire is perfect for those looking for a getaway, a staycation or accommodation for a business trip.

Best roast ever, staff really accommodating and friendly made our Sunday perfect. Pub is lovely and garden has a great area outside to sit and eat Cocktails are amazing too definitely recommend dark chocolate martini We will be back thank you xx

We visited on 19/07 for a celebration. The food was outstanding with plenty of options to cater for a food allergy. The staff were regularly checking in on us and we will most definitely be returning. Thank you!

Always a pleasure to eat @ the Chequers. Front of house so lovely & the rest of the staff well trained, pleasant & most helpful. Food always served well & hot. A gem of a place.

Visiting from California, this is our 2nd Sunday lunch here. Excellent food - coukd not finish it all ! Delicious desserts

Our first time visiting today for our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. One of the best roast dinners we’ve ever had. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Thank you for the card- a lovely touch. I’m sure we will be returning again soon!

Food was excellent, service was fantastic, attentive but without overkill. The anniversary card and mini dessert were a kind and lovely touch. Highly recommend for that special meal out.
