Since 2006, multi award winning chef Steven Sanderson has been delighting his customers with a beautiful selection of delicious dishes that offer traditional values with a modern twist.

Come and relax within our 400 year old inn beneath the ancient beams, and enjoy your meal in contemporary decor near an open fire that burns throughout the year.

We opened 9 new boutique rooms in 2019 and these, together with the restaurant, means that The Chequers at Burcot in South Oxfordshire is perfect for those looking for a getaway, a staycation or accommodation for a business trip.

We went for our anniversary and it could not have been better They gave us a card and free pudding to celebrate The food was amazing and will definitely go back with friends The staff were fantastic

“My family visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening and ordered from the Sunday menu. We tried the Sunday Roast Platter to sample all the roasts, but unfortunately, the chicken was tasteless and dry, and the Yorkshire Pudding was overcooked, leaving a bitter taste. We informed the supervisor, but were disappointed not to receive any apology or gesture, such as a discount, in response. Despite these issues, the overall experience was pleasant.”

Went to the Chequers to celebrate my partner's birthday along with her daughter and daughter's boyfriend. We have been to the Chequers before but it had been some time since our last visit. Both the food and service were exemplary. We all had steak of one variety or another (Fillet, Rump and T-Bone) together with Chunky Chips and Salad. The meal together with the wine were excellent. A fantastic meal and can't wait to go back again

We had a fabulous meal with impeccable service . Special requests were accommodated without quibble, and whilst it meant we were away from other diners the service was very attentive. A extremely pleasant evening, we will return and have no hesitation recommending.

We absolutely love the chequers at Burcot excellent food from a top chef Steve Sanderson great customer service from all the team always a warm welcome and we will definitely be returning

Recommend highly, went there to celebrate the misses birthday and so glad we did. Staff made it a great evening out and the food was amazing.
