Paul Friedman is a Master Chef with over 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry,having owned and operated over 50 successful restaurant concepts in South Africa, Germany, and the U.S. Paul began his career as a manager and worked his way up to franchise owner, then Director of Operations.
He opened Paul's Pizza Shops - a nationally recognized pizza concept in Northwest Houston, Texas in 1994.
Paul later developed a new concept, becoming the Executive Chef, CEO and partner at Peli Peli - a nationally recognized South African Fusion Restaurant which opened in 2009 in Houston, Texas. Having retired from Pelipeli in 2018 he has returned to his original location at Vintage Park with his latest concept The Chefs Table.
Chef Friedman says this is by far my best creation yet and I hope to leave a legacy here for my children and grandchildren to be proud of.

The food, the atmosphere and the service were all above reproach. There was obvious though in the menu as all the tastes blended wonderfully. Phoenix our server was well versed in the menu and provided a wealth of knowledge. We will definitely return

Food was great but was super slow. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded but it took 30min to get drinks. Food took even longer but was delicious when it arrived.

Truly your grandma's dinner table. Eat what's prepared before you...no flexibility in dishes. They come as they are. If you don't eat live 4 legged animals; stick with the seafood, chicken, sausage, soups and veggies. Meat cuts are only served medium rare. There's no flexibility..As grandma would say, eat what's in front of you as it is prepared. Definitely the place to experience the food as prepared in the mind of a Chef with no alterations. Child friendly servers as we had our 12 year old dining with us. This is fine dining at a very high level. I expect them to earn Michelin Star, now that the guide is in Texas. We have followed Chef Paul from Paul pizza through Peli-Peli to his Chef's Table. He doesn't disappoint.

The Chef’s Table was perfect for our date night! If it’s your first time here, request Phoenix as your waiter. He is very knowledgeable about the menu and intuitive about what would best suit your tastes buds. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! We ordered the octopus, jerk fish, backyard braai, brussel sprouts, mushrooms, toffee pudding. We will definitely return!

The restaurant offers a unique menu with several dishes being outstanding, including the hummus. The rice pilaf was insipid and the giant prawn was unremarkable. The menu is expensive and while the service was good, overall we wouldn’t return.
