Lunch at "The Chef and I" is packed full of flavor. Located in our "Backstage" area downstairs in a casual atmosphere, sit where you can see what's happening in our kitchen. Enjoy popular items like the smash burger melt, hot fish sandwich and roma crunch salad or indulge in the chef's favorites of marinated salmon and green chile chicken melt.

The Chef and I is built on a love story between two people that began 15 years ago in Nashville, Tennessee.
We serve innovative cuisine in a fun environment. You can choose to order off the menu or do a chef's tasting any day of the week. A private chef’s table, an interactive show kitchen in addition to regular dining is what you’ll find at The Chef & I Nashville!

Caramelized cauliflower, brussels sprouts, burrata and peaches, smoked elk rack, mojo Tennessee trout and black peppercorn steak our some of our current favorites. Farm to table cuisine with local and unique ingredients is what we are known for.

    Every Friday evening we curate a unique tasting experience from one of our talented chefs. Each themed tasting will change from week to week. The menu itself is 100% at the chef's discretion & because of that, we cannot accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions. Essentially it is an "Omakase" style experience, in which you just "Trust the chef" to deliver a great meal. You will be sitting around the main floor show kitchen, while the chef creates each & every dish right in front of you. You and 18 guests will experience this dinner together. Reservations are at 6:30pm with dinner starting promptly at 7pm. Reservations are non-refundable but transferrable, wine pairings are available. $110 due after event + your beverages.

    Cooking Class - Inspired foods from England. Get hands on with our talented chefs as they teach you our culinary recipes, techniques & skills. In this class you will learn how to make Jamaican inspired food. This is an instructional class from one of our trained restaurant chefs combined with hands-on opportunities using our portable cooking stations. You will be learn tips, tricks & skills from a current working chef to use at home & impress your loved ones. This class is scheduled for 120 minutes from 3pm to 5pm. *This is not a full meal, but you will taste along the way. Upon finishing your experience you will be guaranteed a reservation to dine with us, have a cocktail & order any one of our delicious culinary tastings & creations.

    The 5-course tasting menu was wonderful! Lamb belly chili was my favorite. Yum!!!

    We were there to celebrate 25 years of marriage. Noted this on the reservation but no mention or anything special for the occasion we were celebrating. Food was good with generous portions with the tasting menu. Unfortunately the timing of the food and wine pairing were off and we would be half done with our dish when the wine came out. Also, my pre-dinner cocktail came out after the food was being served. This on top of the waiter forgetting our dietary restrictions numerous times over the meal.

    Michael our server was excellent. The portions were perfect for a 7 course meal and the flavor profiles were outstanding. We had a show to get to so the pacing across 2 hours was fantastic. Would absolutely recommend.

    The chefs at this restaurant are over the top creative and expert. Chef Eric and Chef Blake were fantastic tonight. Michael is a longtime top server in Nashville and TCAI is fortunate to have lured him. Even the food runner was charming and knowledgeable! Recommend the tasting menu and the desserts. Tonight Blake made the Bananas Foster meant for the cheesecake and topped their homemade salted vanilla ice cream at our request. Exquisite! Can’t say enough// no matter their location over the years, always special.

    We had the 5 course tasting menu w/wine pairing. We sat at the counter by the kitchen. Chef Eric was awesome and the food was spectacular! Great way to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday

    It was great experience for me and my wife. The chef was awesome and it was cool hearing and learning about how the recipes came about

    There is so much to love about this restaurant. My husband and I were town for Vanderbilt medical center and were celebrating our anniversary. First the positives: - the tasting experience with the chefs was out of this world -the wine is some of the best I have ever had. -I am a vegetarian, and the flavors of the food presented were perfection -the interactions and being part of the tasting experience was so enjoyable. The areas of improvement: I had emailed multiple times and called and posted a note on the reservation to make sure they could accommodate one vegetarian tasting. The lady i spoke too, Melissa, said it would be fine. When we get there, they seemed surprised about the vegetarian - weren’t sure they could accommodate, and Melissa didn’t seem to thrilled. It was the most expensive meal we have ever paid for, and it felt like there was a miss on the service from the vegetarian stand point and the tasting menu - in regards to having to check with Melissa to see if she even said they could do it. They have plenty of vegetarian options, and all delicious. Also, I think there was a missed opportunity, b/c I would have liked the 7 tasing courses, but they said for a vegetarian they could only do 5. I saw multiple dishes, I could have eaten for 7. This is why I knocked off a start. Also, I left kind of hungry. For a $500 bill, I would have made sure that we left feeling full and nothing was wanting. My husband did the regular 7 courses and added on an extra plate, so he was fine. BUt without the extra $50 plate, he said he would have been hungry too - he is a big boy though. Overall, I do recommend this restaurant b/c the chefs are incredible. Their food is pure magic, but I think there needs to be better customer service from the person in charge of the restaurant, so the customer doesn’t feel like a problem first entering the room.

    At the end of this wild ride we call life, all we'll have is our memories and what stays with us and despite having lived a fulfilling life, what is most likely to stay with me before I barrel roll into those pearly gates is the unabashed decadence my taste buds experienced with Chef Eric and Chef Blake. The human experience is rooted in euphoria and they exceeded any possible expectation of what food can do or feel with their world class talent. The tasting menu was exquisite, the vibes were immaculate, and for the first time since they put the Roast of Charlie Sheen back on Paramount+, I was happy. Thank you Chef and I for a magical evening.

    I signed up for the cooking class at The Chef and I. I think there is some definite room for improvement with this class. When buying the class ticket online, it said it was for a home cooked meal, but didn't specify what that meal was. When we arrived, it was salmon and risotto. I don't like seafood and another girl was allergic. There was nowhere that the class requested any allergies or food preferences. When we asked for a substitute, venison medium rare was offered to us first, then pheasant. They said they had no chicken in house. It seemed like they didn't have any basic meats in the restaurant. Overall, the chef/teacher was nice but he seemed stressed. He didn't really have much showmanship or enthusiasm when teaching us what to do. At the beginning, most of us were confused what we should do as he wasn't really taking charge and being a leader. I felt like the first 20-30 minutes of the class could have been the the chef showing us the steps, while the remainder could have been the class making the meal with the chef walking around and instructing. Overall, it just felt disorganized.
