The Charles is a modern American Restaurant with craft cocktails, live entertainment and an old Hollywood Vibe! New to Reading, which is fast becoming a beautiful walkable downtown location, with new new restaurants, new stores to shop at and we are happy to add The Charles to your choice of dining and entertainment choices. We are located right in the center of town which is easily accessible from 93 or 128/95 with a very short drive. Located right next door to the up and coming famous award winning Bunratty Tavern, you can't miss us.
Open for Dinner Thurs-Saturday 5-10pm. Available for Private Functions Sun-Wed and Saturday during the day.

We have been here before and we will be back again - food is great; nice variety, all well prepared and delicious. We had a wonderful meal with a fantastic waitress. Cannot wait to go back. Next visit I am getting the short rib - someone in our group had it and looked amazing and he ate it all so I am sure it was great.

Everything about this restaurant is great. Atmosphere is co for table and friendly. Staff are professional, personable, and helpful. Live music group was awesome. The food and drinks were phenomenal as always! Thank you for another wonderful evening!

Was very dissatisfied with our experience at this restaurant. The food and the service was good but the music was too loud. I watched our waiter go up to the musician and asked and the musician did nothing. Just kept it loud. If you want to go out to dinner and not talk to anyone at your table then go to this restaurant. If you want to talk to your friends at your table then go some place else. There are great restaurants all over the area. Will not be coming back to this restaurant again

The food wait staff and entertainment was outstanding. It was a fun nite at the Charles . I would definitely go back.

Very helpful and friendly server (Ethan). The Mac n cheese balls for an appetizer was delicious!!The special cordon blue was AMAZING. My wife had the scallops with squash risotto which was to die for! Drinks were great and there was also entertainment which was great to listen to and not so loud we couldn’t still talk. Overall we love this restaurant for date night!!! Highly recommend.
