We visited Cartmel this weekend and choose to dine with yourselves. This is a very relaxed dining experience which is what we were after with excellent food! The bar was very busy when we arrived and there was a great atmosphere bout the place. We were kindly directed to our table. The seating was a mixture, my seat was comfortable however, family members were sat on a shallow church pew, which was uncomfortable when seated for a long period of time and for dining. However, I don’t want this to steer away from the how lovely the food was. The menu was small, with a few options to choose which suits me as I know it’s fresh and quality. I had the crab nibble, baked cod and lemon posset. Others enjoyed the soup, monkfish and smoked chicken to start and the stake pie which came with great chunky chips. The portions were very generous and we all left feeling very satisfied. We will definitely recommend and be back! Thank you all for such a lovely dining and your staff are very friendly and helpful, they are a credit to your establishment!

Visited for lunch on Saturday 6th July 2024 for 3 Adults and 1 child. Good choice for all on the lunch and children’s menu food and staff knowledge excellent.

We were here for a brief stay for a birthday and only booked earlier in the day but the service was very prompt and attentive. We were both very very impressed with the food and my cod was outstanding - a real gem and we’ll be back!

Decent food but I wouldn't say value for money. £7 for 3 chicken wings as a starter, is not good. Service and friendliness of staff was ok. No warm welcome.

Hi Booboo, Thank you for your message. Our Chicken wings are large three point wings (not two point) that are often sold, we then coast them in Soy, Sesame and Honey before we roost them as opposed to a generic wing been dropped into a fryer. They are also served as a nibble on our nibbles menu not as a starter, however diners are more than welcome to mix and match and have them as a starter if they wish. Our full nibbles board consists of Wings, Crab & Lime Croutes, Cherry peppers filled with Goat cheese. Mackerel Croquettes, and finally Halloumi Chips , When purchased as a full board the price is £25 which is fabulous value for money, Each item varies from £6 to £8 if bought individually., but are designed as nibbles not starters. Our starter section ranges from £8 to £13
