A village pub with real ales, great food and accommodation near Bath

The Catherine Wheel is a 17th century country pub in the historic conservation village of Marshfield. It’s just eight miles north of the Roman city of Bath (a World Heritage site) and 13 miles from the port of Bristol, named European Green Capital 2015.

Marshfield stands close to where three county borders meet at Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset. This is at the southern gateway to the rolling Cotswold hills which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Our chefs are highly regarded for creating wholesome, freshly-prepared dishes, using local produce as much as possible.

I booked this table for my 2 American guests and they both said what a lovely evening they had experienced. The food was excellent and the surroundings and staff were very welcoming. Thankyou

Been coming here for years, usually for Sunday roast. Yesterday was excellent; roast beef and a roast pork with crackling. As others have remarked, the portion sizes are generous; lots of meat with a wide variety of veg. and accompaniments. Service quick and friendly.
