Our restaurant is secluded within the gardens of Ferntree Rainforest Lodge. We welcome all to join in, relax, and enjoy The Cassowary Restaurant’s tropical rainforest dining ambience.

We keep our menu options fresh for all our guests to enjoy well-known classic dishes, true Aussie dining platters, and we make a conscious effort to work with local produce and suppliers to support local businesses.

We can cater to all dietary requirements and allergies. Bookings are essential.

                            CLOSED DO NOT BOOK! Even though I had a re confirmation email a week before we arrived and it was closed and look like it had been for some time. The least they could have done was inform us!!!

                            Disappointing. Food took over an hour to be served. The table next to us were told there was no food left after waiting an hour for their meal. The two staff members were doing their best but obvious big problems in the kitchen. My curry consistent of 4 tiny pieces of chicken floating in an over curried soup, aglio olio spaghetti appeared to have no garlic. No cutlery provided when meals arrived as staff were placating other diners. We served ourselves from the kitchen bench. Many disgruntled diners. Of note the restaurant was closed the next 2 nights. Best to check the restaurant has food and a chef prior to going. Hopefully they get organised!

                            Just a very nice restaurant, Great friendly staff and an amazing value for money dinner. Also thank you for remembering we had been married for 40 years as I’d forgotten I’d mentioned it

                            Decent food with an grossly overpriced wine list. Service was very inattentive even with only 12 people in the restaurant. Nothing more annoying when the staff are more interested in chatting than serving.

                            A beautiful relaxed setting. Service was really professional and the food was delicious and came out quickly. Highly recommend

                            Nice food. Menu description inaccurate. Waiters are not trained but very helpful on local tips and tours. Music too loud indoors with regard to the setting.
