Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant's on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille's wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 - 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required.     We were about the first to be seated for lunch on the day after Christmas. We were in the bar area which is nice. Unfortunately, our soup and salad came out after our entrees so timing was off. As the first to order we were surprised when others were getting their food before we did. Food was good though. We just didn’t really need our soup and salad after starting entrees.

    We’ve been to several Capital Grille locations, and the restaurant in Louisville matches the wonderful experiences we’ve had in Washington, DC, Tyson’s Corner, Va. & Hartford, CT. It’s our go-to place for special occasions & celebrations. Everett was our server, and he was engaging, knowledgeable and anticipated our wishes. We had the calamari which was tender & delicious & the sliced fillet with Cipollini onions & mushrooms. The fillet was prepared perfectly. My wife who was celebrating a milestone birthday, also had the Expresso Martini, and I had an In Fashion both excellently prepared. And the complimentary birthday dessert was exemplary. We will definitely return.

    Great as always. One of our favorite places. Had Christmas Eve dinner at the bar. The entire bar staff was awesome. Thank you for an enjoyable evening!!

    Sucked, went to capital grille instead of our usual best friends Christmas Lunch at Jeff Ruby’s When got there was informed no lunch menu only dinner menu ??? So we did not drink (water only) ,ordered salad or soup and left to go elsewhere to have drink eat more ! Should have been warned no lunch menu but cannot believe you would restrict normal lunch menu during holidays ??

    Shrimp cocktail was mushy. The French onion soup is better at Applebees and the ceasar salad was nothing special. Pretty place and the service was decent though!

    While the food was good nothing outstanding. It seemed that the entree was overwhelmed by the side. Several entrees had Parmesan fries which covered two-thirds of the plate. Online menu different from actual menu. This is extremely frustrating when you take the time to pick out ahead of time what you would like to order only to find those items not on menu. In addition, if you are trying to keep to a budget during holidays having to make snap decisions while ordering is counterproductive.

    Table was in darkened area with limited visibility. Steaks were chewy and overcooked even as ordered. Sides were mediocre. Service was superior as usual. It was Saturday evening before Christmas and busy, but as a regular CG customer I was disappointed.

    We got the lobster mac and cheese, lump crab cake, the bisque and chowder, and pork chops! It was DELICIOUS! Every time we come we get the freshest most delicious meals, can’t wait to come back again!
