We’ve enjoyed the cadeby before but was left with disappointment this time. My wife ordered Caesar salad without anchovies, it came with anchovies and when told she ordered without, they simply took them off the plate and reserved the dish. That’s not good enough. Her portion was small for £12 £6 for side of some broccoli?! Artisan breads (starter) may as well been from the bakery at Tesco. We left disappointed

The food was outstanding ,definitely recommend the Beef brisket on the Sunday Lunch menu .Great value for money.Another visit planned already.Lovely surroundings great atmosphere.

Really sad to actually be writing this as we’ve been regulars here for many years, the last good meal we had was my mum’s 60th in at the end of August last year it was faultless, I think since then there has been a change in chef as the food and also the service is nowhere near where it used to be, it’s such a shame as it was a hidden gem and was always a guarantee of a decent meal, you couldn’t go wrong booking here but the past several months have been anything but that, we have been recommended the mucky duck in Everton which is apparently similar to what cadeby used to be so we will try there from now on, I feel the staff at cadeby need training up as the level of service and food doesn’t equate to the cost, it’s very expensive and in the past we never minded as like I say was always a garauntee of a good meal but now not so much

What a find! Well designed sophisticated restaurant with great ambiance and delicious well presented and cooked food for everyone’s tastes. Having designed many restaurants around the world my only criticism (which applies to the majority of restaurants) is the profusion of hard surfaces with nothing to absorb the sounds of diners. Whatever happened to carpets or rugs, or other tricks? However I will certainly return when next in the area., and highly recommend this oasis !

It was our 1 year anniversary where we meet at the restaurant which I emailed and there was no insensitive, I am not looking for an expensive gesture but something would have been nice on our revisit . Next yes the menu was very basic where as a fellow chef the place could have benefited with some specials on a Friday evening not just the bog standard menu. So as our starters came I ordered the smoked haddock fish cake with sweet chilli sauce which well for one you could tell the sauce was bought in and the “mixed leaf” was unwashed something you would expect to get in your local supermarket. Then getting to the fishcake as I know smoked haddock can have bones in but if the mix is done right you avoid this, where I was welcomed to a huge bone in the middle of it. Next came the main course where my partners fish and chips was nice but then after my starter I was addressed with my gammon which was so over cooked and dry and my crispy egg was under cooked in the middle with watercress undressed so I wasn’t happy. So I complained and waited another 30 minutes for the pork belly which yes was nice but after waiting then it been late leaving i didn’t even want it . I was refunded for both meals . The evening was ruined as well been sat near a big party with kids running and screaming at 9 30 pm which I am anware isn’t the restaurants fault . For the basic menu which is massively over priced for what you get I think they need to have a re think. The place is really nice and the decoration of the building is stunning but sadly the food lets it down in my terms I would say “style over substance “ which a couple agreed next to us which also didn’t have a great experience. As I say I was refunded but unfortunately i definitely won’t be returning for a return visit .

We had to find someone to get seated. We had to ask for the wine list. 15 min at the table before our drink order was taken. The bottle of white wine was warm. The combo starter for £25 was not worth it. Shop bought pork scatching and cheap looking pickles. The £32 steak was not worth it. A weird mushroom and soggy tomato on top. All the chips were dry and lots of bitty ones, like they were frozen chips or re cooked. The fish was greasy, looked like a glove/mitten and the batter too thick. Mushy peas were dry. I had to search for someone to pay. My bill was £170 and I feel like I was ripped off. Not impressed at all.
