Excellent hotel with great facilities, the Spa is very relaxing and well kept, the food in the restaurant was beautiful, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our visit was for a Birthday treat The afternoon tea was lovely and staff pleasant. No other visitors in the area where we saturate but pretty decor. We had a nice time and had a look at a couple of function rooms and bar area before we left. Beautiful building.

The Food was excellent. Each course looked well presented, although my starters was tiny, but it was helped by the free bread basket which appeared at our table! The service was second to none, and no automatic service charge was put on our bill, which is unusual. So we were generous with the tip. The Hotel looked fantastic and was obviously newly refurbished. We would most definite have a meal at The Buxton Crescent again.

The afternoon tea food was great. Sandwiches were tasty, sweets were delicious, and the scones are remarkably good! The texture was perfect. The service was abysmal. The staff was courteous -- just nonexistent. I had to visit the front desk multiple times to ask for our server to come by the table for different requests, whether it's to finally order food, request more tea, and I searched for a staff member to finally get the bill. Even after finding a staff member, there was a delay in coming to the table and not a single word of apology for being ignored our entire meal. It was stunningly disrespectful. A supremely sour note to end a wonderful day in Buxton. The ambience is great, and the building is beautiful. We had initially thought of returning sometime to visit the spa and stay for a weekend, but we will definitely not be returning. If anything, request the scones for takeaway and prepare to wait a half hour and chase a staff member for that as well.

Very nice, old building refurbished to a very high modern standard. Immaculate throughout. Very close to the Opera house which was the reason for our stay. Bedroom small but adequate. All bathroom fittings were perfect. Room quiet and confortable. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast. Very high standard of both ingredients and cooking. Table service was charming and attentive at both dinner and breakfast. Reception staff too were charming and efficient. Spa facilities were excellent with great pools both indoor and out. My wife enjoyed these to the max. Only one downside here…the price…£375 for our room for one night and £135 for dinner for 2 with a modest wine. However, If you can afford it you wont be disappointed!

We had afternoon tea but unfortunately we were the only people which took away the atmosphere and instead we had a stream of people walking past on their way to other parts of the hotel

My only problem with the tea was our table was in a room which was a thoroughfare so people walking through all tge time. Would have been nicer in a room to itself. Food was good, tea was lovely, service was good. Worth a visit!

Lovely staff and great food. Nothing was too much trouble and we were in no way rushed. Would defiantly attend again.
