Nuno and Allison Correia’s passion permeates through the restaurant — from the signature Portuguese dishes to our extensive wine collection. We used to go here for all special occasions and my nephew had his wedding reception there - wonderful meals and events. Sadly no where near what it used to be and very overpriced for what you get. Wont be making any repeat bookings.

Lovely meal and our table of 6 created its own ambience. The restaurant is large, but very quiet that night.

Outstanding food as always. Good service (timely without being obtrusive), nice quiet ambiance - conversations at each table but no shouting etc. A very good classy restaurant.

I visited the Butchers Arms for the first time with my family , including my son and his twelve week old baby. We were made most welcome and had a delicious leisurely lunch. Thank you.

Booked on the Friday so that we could try the Portuguese fixed menu. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly man and asked if we wanted a drink. They was out of parvha so I had madri. Two of the drinks my wife asked for weren’t available so in the end she had a rose blush. We then sat down and ate as given the menus and realised apart from one other table with two people we were the only ones there. Shocking for a Friday night. We were given menus but it was the a la carte menu. I said we’ve come for the Portuguese set menu only to be told that they wasn’t doing it because not enough people had booked so it wasn’t worth getting the ingredients in. He said the hadn’t done it in 3 weeks. Perhaps they could have contacted me and let me know or put it on social media that they wasn’t doing it. The food me and my wife had was ok. My lamb was melt in the mouth although I felt there was too many black beans. Service was good but by then we was the only ones in there. I got the bill and it was £7 for my madri and £10 for a glass of wine. 5 minutes down the road a pint of madri is £5.60 and a glass of wine £7. If the place was heaving then you would think they’re obviously doing something right but for us to be the only people in there in a Friday is sad to see for a once great restaurant. The food was just ok and very overpriced. I wouldn’t rush back until I hear or see that they’ve improved.
