Welcome to the Butchers Arms.

Our 16th century Public House is situated on Lime Street in the parish of Eldersfield near Gloucester.

The Butchers Arms is first and foremost a rural pub, where the bar is the hub of life, with low ceilings, wooden floors, roaring fires and real ale served straight from the cask.

The food is British and we source only the finest ingredients from local suppliers. The menu constantly changes according to what is in season.

Please note that as it is a small pub and we are unable to cater for children under the age of 10.

Our first time at this wonderful pub! What more could you want?!!! An interior with a lovely atmosphere, a table next to a cosy wood burner, friendly smiling service & exceptional food. This one is different. Interesting menu and a lunch to be remembered. Would highly recommend!

Another Sunday lunch visit to the Butchers and this time solo but no worry. Warm and friendly welcome as ever, great lunchtime atmosphere. Delicious pigeon breast salad with pancetta, chicory and elderflower. Following the game theme with roast duck, Anna potatoes, morello cherry and blackberry. All going swimmingly with a fine bottle of Chateauneuf Domaine del la Solitude (appropriate!). Rounded off with chocolate cremeux, Griottine cherries and cocoa tuile. Always love a bit if chocolate soil. Great way to welcome autumn.

Simply superb. Great fun food - an artic roll! - with excellent wine and beer. Our greatest regret … that we haven’t been sooner. Will be back, and soon.

We shared the smoked eel starter and the arctic roll dessert. We each had the perfectly cooked pan fried cod, which came with mussels and a delicate saffron sauce.The portions of puréed potato and sweet corn that accompanied the cod might have been a bit more generous! The starter and dessert were excellent. Prompt and attentive service, lovely friendly atmosphere.

Although choice is limited to four for each starter, main and dessert, choosing dishes between what we knew would be tasty and sometimes intriguing still left us in a quandry. Suffice to say all three we selected were delicious. Service is prompt and friendly. Despite being out in the " sticks " this is an eatery worthy of the term " destination "

A delicious summer's evening meal enjoyed for our friend's birthday. Jo and her team are perfect hosts and the food was sumptuous as always. With just the right amount of choice and variety, it was a perfectly curated menu. Deserts were decorated with colorful edible flowers and the menu features plenty of fresh locally sourced ingredients. The meal was a visual delight and joy to our taste buds. 100% recommended for a special evening out for couples and groups of friends or family.
