Welcome to the Butchers Arms.

Our 16th century Public House is situated on Lime Street in the parish of Eldersfield near Gloucester.

The Butchers Arms is first and foremost a rural pub, where the bar is the hub of life, with low ceilings, wooden floors, roaring fires and real ale served straight from the cask.

The food is British and we source only the finest ingredients from local suppliers. The menu constantly changes according to what is in season.

Please note that as it is a small pub and we are unable to cater for children under the age of 10.

We shared the smoked eel starter and the arctic roll dessert. We each had the perfectly cooked pan fried cod, which came with mussels and a delicate saffron sauce.The portions of puréed potato and sweet corn that accompanied the cod might have been a bit more generous! The starter and dessert were excellent. Prompt and attentive service, lovely friendly atmosphere.

Although choice is limited to four for each starter, main and dessert, choosing dishes between what we knew would be tasty and sometimes intriguing still left us in a quandry. Suffice to say all three we selected were delicious. Service is prompt and friendly. Despite being out in the " sticks " this is an eatery worthy of the term " destination "

A delicious summer's evening meal enjoyed for our friend's birthday. Jo and her team are perfect hosts and the food was sumptuous as always. With just the right amount of choice and variety, it was a perfectly curated menu. Deserts were decorated with colorful edible flowers and the menu features plenty of fresh locally sourced ingredients. The meal was a visual delight and joy to our taste buds. 100% recommended for a special evening out for couples and groups of friends or family.

A celebration of our wedding anniversary - wonderful food, prepared to perfection. Succulent pork, tasty lightly cooked fish and topped off with desserts of the highest quality. Great evening all round, thank you.

We were warmly greeted when we entered the bar and led to a table overlooking the pretty gardens. Our starters were creative, with some surprising elements that were delicious. The service was friendly without being intrusive. We really enjoyed our experience.

This was our third visit and again a remarkable evening. Food and the service was impeccable as always. Staff so friendly and caring, food immaculate in presentation and taste. This is our favourite restaurant. We could not recommend highly enough. Fabulous *****
