Very, very slow service. Had to go to bar to find staff every time we wanted something. That was in spite of them telling us it was table service. Pub not busy.

Table booked for 8. Got seated early which was good considering we had children with us. Drinks ordered/table service was quick. We were all on our second drinks and around 1 hour and 10 minutes until we got our food. The orders that were asked for certain items to be removed weren’t and had to be amended which was another wait. Items that were stated on the menu that was included in the roast wasn’t served and we weren’t informed of this till food served. Definitely better for value around the area. Was disappointing.

It's hard to know where to start here. The whole experience was like nothing I have ever had before. I would never step foot in this place again. It is run by completely incompetent staff. Key points: We had a dog which we put on the booking and they put us on a table that didn't allow dogs. The waitress took our order eventually, drinks and food then we didn't get checked in on again. We had to go to the bar for more drinks. Our empties were left on the table. We asked for our son's food to come with our starters and they sent our mains out first. When we said we hadn't had our starters they asked us to take them all together. We said no as we didn't want to eat them all together or one lot to go cold. We had already waited an hour by this point then waited another hour for a waitress to come and ask if we wanted desserts. We still hadn't had our mains by this point. By this point we were very frustrated as we booked an early table so we could get our 2 year old to be at a good time. We asked to speak to a manager who was extremely rude and confrontational. He threatened to make our stay awkward if we kept complaining. He did offer free desserts but we did not want to stay another hour when it was already getting late for our son. He then offered us a free drink and told us to write a trip advisor. We are usually very patient and understanding people, but the restaurant was so quiet, there was no excuse for the poor service. Unfortunately we had to stay the night as we'd had a drink, so we did come down for breakfast hoping it may be a different kind of service. We were greeted by another member of staff who also had 0 customer service skills. He just stared at us rather than ask us for our order. He then told us they were out of bacon (we were the first ones in so they hadn't run out!). Overall we couldn't wait to leave and would encourage others to not waste their time or money here.

The dining room is large and inviting, there is also a large outdoor dining area. We were quickly shown to our tables and offered drinks along with the menu. The menu is very comprehensive, but we went specifically for Sunday lunch. I had the roast chicken amd my husband had the belly pork. The chicken was dry as was the cauliflower cheese. The pigs in blankets used sasuages with too much herb content overpowering the bacon, which was soggy. The pork was very fatty and carrots overcooked. The table next to us recieved their pigs in blanket after they have finished their main course, despite the item supposedly included in the roast chicken meal. There was, however, plenty of food , including gravy! We then had to wait 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared. We ordered mini desserts and coffees. The desserts were delicious but arrived a good 5-10 minutes before the coffee. When we paid our bill we were told that they were very busy...we hadn't complained.

We were not giving what was on the menu… ‘honey roasted carrots and parsnips’ instead we had boiled carrots…. Asked the server (who we didn’t see until the end of the meal), first she said they must of forgot, then said it had been busy today so ran out, we should of been told that when we ordered. The food was basic. The server greated us abruptly when we arrived, clearly didn’t want to work on a Sunday. Overall service not great. Won’t be back

Had to wait over an hour for food and people who were seated long after us got served before us even though we had children, stuff came out black burnt aswell.

Fantastic! Highly recommend! Brought my mum and two young boys for evening tea. Location is stunning. Not too remote but still out of the way. Inside is clean, light and bright, beautiful classic pub. Outside is just as good, lots of seats and fantastic booths with heaters. Staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was the same. The play area is great, my boys had the best fun after their food just running around. The food was outstanding! We had fish and chips, burgers and sausages and mash for the kids! Everything was cooked to perfection the quality of the food was fresh and the portions were just right! You have to try the gravy! I will be coming back for a Sunday roast very soon! Thanks to all the staff!

Lovely restaurant/pub friendly staff the food was good always have to wait a little for the food to come out but that really isn’t a problem, it’s worth the wait.
