We made supper reservations at The Break specifically to watch a particular band (Whirling Dervishes). After checking the day before, with Isaac at the restaurant, I ascertained that we would be able to have drinks& eat supper starting at 7:15&continue eating and drinking through the band's 9p.m. performance. The Break noted my request on the Open Table reservation form concerning table placement &the restaurant selected a perfect site.The 4 of us had an extraordinary experience; it was an unalloyed joy.That memory endures. Thank you both.

Service was fine, lucky to get an energetic involved employee. Food was subpar, mediocre at best. Draft was not exceptionally cold, same for food, luke warm not hot. Chips, guac, pico - chips borderline stale, pico runny no flavor, guacamole was highlight, fresh with nice chunks of avocado. Ordered tacos carnitas, no flavor at all. Served with fresh lime and green sauce. Salsa Verde sauce not bad but could not make up for no flavor on the pork, no other sauce presented with the tacos, could have used some spicy red or green sauce as well. The menu is varied and if served hot with some flavor could be a winner.

The Break has a noisy cafeteria feel and NO warmth or kitsch, however the food was excellent, hot and plated attractively. Our waitstaff was friendly and efficient. I may order take away, but will not eat “in” the restaurant again. The look and atmosphere was way way too basic for fabulous Asbury Park.

The "rebranding "is a complete failure. The tacos were dry with no failure. No clue how to make a mojito and the renovations don't work. Will not be returning.

The menu was new and very small, the food wasn't good, the service was worse. It's a shame, we used to enjoy going there.

Good food and great service from our server. Kind of exactly what I would expect from a boardwalk food place. Food was good but not amazing and you know you are paying more because of the view. But overall a nice time. Only big negative was that someone had their dog that was clearly uncomfortable and it was panic barking the whole time. We noticed several other tables getting very upset because the dog was clearly in distress and the management team was ignoring it.
