    One of our favourite family restaurants not only for Christmas dinner but also for an afternoon tea or an occasional dinner out! Food is always amazing. Service is great! Location is perfect! Love everything about The Brasserie!

    Having booked an afternoon tea through Open table, we arrived at the time of our booking to be told that we didn’t book correctly and we needed to inform the kitchen in advance. Having checked prior to our booking and calling in advance to ask if there was a dress code for our afternoon tea, there was no reference to this, nor that we hadn’t booked. Not sure if it’s a system error that needs addressing to prevent it happening in future for other guests but not ideal customer service, we ended up having lunch elsewhere.

    Excellent Roast, great quality. We sat outside as it was a nice day. Staff all very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will come again for sure!

    We booked afternoon tea for four friends, to celebrate a 40th birthday. I called up in advance to let them know the birthday girl was a vegetarian…a fact that was met with some confusion and I was told they’d let the kitchen know and I would be called ‘if there was an issue.’ Upon arrival, we were greeted by a harried member of bar staff, clearly stressed by making cocktails for the one other table of diners. When we sat down, we waited about 15 minutes for someone to come over at which point we asked if we could have our glass of champagne (we had paid in advance for a champagne tea) to be told they’d run out of champagne! Good start. A catalogue of errors ensued…no vegetarian food provided until we mentioned we’d called ahead. ‘Who did you speak to?’ I was asked and another 15 minutes later a couple of limp cucumber and egg sandwiches appeared. The selection of ‘loose leaf teas’ came in big standard tea bags, but no teaspoons. When paying for additional drinks at the end, they took payment from only 3 of the 4 of us then disappeared. Only to come back and say we hadn’t paid the whole bill. Which we hadn’t because the 4th person was still waiting to pay! The whole payment process ending up causing tension and at no point was our friend’s birthday acknowledged, despite putting a note about it at booking. Overall, a highly disappointing experience. Bad service, bad atmosphere and mediocre food. I won’t be coming back and I won’t be recommending! Far too many other nice options in Tunbridge Wells.

We apologise for any disappointment you experienced during your visit and we will be giving feedback to our staff and kitchen. We value your feedback regards the food and drink and we are glad that you enjoyed our freshly cooked scones. We apologise that the provision of the vegetarian options were not catered to satisfactorily. Finally, after further investigation our tea is advertised as loose leaf but is bagged in biodegradable bags for portion precision. We are sorry that this is misleading but it is a very good quality tea despite it not being fully served as loose leaf in the pot. Kind regards, Michal Hrusc, General Manager

    Most of the starters were very good and the mains too, Steak is a bit expensive considering the quality.

    We visited the Brasserie as they were offering 20% off the bill, even with the discount it was not worth it. The food is expensive for what you get and was rather so so in quality. The cheese board had stale soft crackers and given the service was essentially non existent and you had to constantly go up to the bar to get any service, there was no opportunity to ask for new ones. The bottle of wine came out warm to touch. The ambience is a typical hotel restaurant, quiet elevator music and no buzz at all. In general a very disappointing meal and would not return.

    Not impressed. Tea menu stated loose leaf but it was in bags. No menu provided for sandwiches/cakes so proportion of vegetarian to non-vegetarian was imbalanced for group. Asked for more jam and the response was “I’ll check with the kitchen”. Milk spilt as placed on the table. On the plus side the scones were beautifully fresh!

    We visited because I was given a voucher as a leaving gift, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of our meal. We opted for the Steaks for two with a bottle of wine offer with the addition of starter and dessert. My ribeye steak was one of the best I have had in a lomg time and was perfectly cooked. This place is a hidden gem!

    Booked without knowing whether it was good or not. Everything about it was lovely including the food, but a special thanks goes to the attentive staff who went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable.
