The Afternoon Tea menu showcases a delightful array of sweet and savory British specialties, including a selection of freshly made pastries, cakes, and sandwiches that evolve with the seasons. Each of the Botanic Tearoom’s scented teas is naturally fragranced with fresh flowers or natural oils, creating vivid aromas and perfectly timed using traditional hourglass timers.

The tearoom and hotel itself are stunning, however, it wasn't quite the experience we were expecting. There was a singer in the tearoom which felt a bit overkill for the space and would have been better suited to the bar area. What was disappointing was the price - we had booked this at one price but then the bill came at a different price. The member of staff explained that prices had increased and they weren't sure who had booked at what price but if I had my confirmation confirming what I'd booked at, they would adjust. Given that they had the same booking information I had, it felt disappointing that I had to produce the information which did leave a slightly sour taste. The afternoon tea itself was really nice, the cakes were very flavoursome but I do think it is overpriced.

Lovely atmosphere. We chose afternoon tea for our 51st anniversary treat. We were impressed by the atmosphere and the service was great. Our server told us the history of the building and information about what we were eating and drinking. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Beautiful Surroundings which I think puts the price up as the afternoon tea was average and service was slow had to ask a couple of times for tea and coffee and a very hefty service charge for very little service although the staff are very friendly and a service charge is also applied at the bar even though you go to the bar yourself and had quite a wait to be served as it was a Birthday treat for a friend I wanted something a bit special the hotel is beautiful but I’ve had better afternoon teas for a lot less but like I said you pay for the surroundings glad I went but wouldn’t rush back

Finger sandwiches were stale as though they’d been left out for a while, no clean cutlery or plates for scones and cakes after having pork and chorizo sausage roll. Once we managed to attract someone’s attention we asked for clean plates and cutlery they brought 1 when there were 3 of us. Staff were polite but it was difficult to get their attention. My daughter had been there before, and enjoyed it which was why we had booked but won’t be going again. I feel it wasn’t worth the money (for reference we paid £197 for three of us with a glass of Prosecco - not champagne each, including service charge)

From the time we arrived, the reception was very warm and helpful. Anna, was very courteous and helpful explaining the history of the hotel making our afternoon tea interesting as well as delicious. Scones kept warm with refills of tea. Beautiful hotel, designed with high specification and sensitivity to the original character. Xxx

The afternoon tea was delicious with a good variety of food and cakes. The handmade sausage roll was excellent. Good atmosphere and service. Would recommend.

The building is amazing. The tea room is gorgeous. The staffs are very well trained and mannered. The food is fantastic, from presentation and flavour. We will be back to explore more .
