Situated in the attractive hamlet of Warden, a few miles west of Hexham, The Boatside Inn offers a friendly welcome at a traditional country pub in the heart of Northumberland. Ideal for those looking to tread along the Northumberland trails or delve into the history of Hadrian’s Wall.

Our Head Chef is dedicated to creating exceptional dishes made fresh to order, using only the finest ingredients, delivering enhanced flavours and quality.

A must-try is our signature dish: the succulent, slow-cooked braised beef short rib, paired with a rich Pancetta & Baby Onion Sauce.

Service was very slow. Wrong drink bought to the table and only one bitter available. Food was very average and slow in coming out. Shame as a lovely setting but won’t be returning

On arrival the table didn't look very clean but as it was set I didn't speak out. The water glasses all had water marks on them as did the wine glasses when they were brought to the table. The service was slow. A server said they would bring menus and then returned to take order before menus had been given to us. The meals were ok. Most of our party had beef which all said was fatty. The meals went cold quickly as the plates seemed cold. The servers did seem young and inexperienced which could be a reason. They were all very polite.

A very nice meal and good value. Vegetables very well cooked and Pan Haggerty wonderful. Good beer, nice friendly staff so a very nice lunchtime all round. It was busy and staff were having to work very hard so occasionally service took a little time but all good. This was Hexham Restaurant week - look forward to it coming round again

We've ate here quite a few times recently, mainly on Sunday after discovering how good the Sunday dinners are. Today unfortunately the dinner wasn't up to usual standards, the pork was very chewy and the vegetables too hard. I hope this is just a one-off/blip because we've enjoyed all previous visits/meals.
