Please note, guest request are not guaranteed. You can request to be seated on the terrace, but it's not guaranteed as these tables are open to the elements. On a sunny day, tables are allocated outside based on the date the booking was made (early birds!) We will do our upmost to accommodate you outside if we can. Please call us on the day to see where you will be seated as special requests are not guaranteed. We have zero tolerance for aggressive behaviour.

The Boatman, is Windsor’s only pub on the river at the foot of Windsor Castle overlooking Eton Bridge. Serving freshly cooked food all day everyday from midday to 9pm at night, in the cosy bar, restaurant or in the stunning riverside all-weather conservatory, there is a fine selection of wine, ales, cocktails to choose from.
The bar area and terrace is dog friendly, we cannot accept any pets in the conservatory or restaurant.

                  Lovely spot on the water for a drink, but the food was really disappointing. Children’s meals were ok but the portions were much too small for my 2x 9 yr old boys and the seafood spaghetti which I ordered was over spiced and lacked any flavour at all. The service was very good and staff friendly but the food really was a let-down for the price so wouldn’t recommend. 😕

                  Excellent location on the river in a nice secluded spot away from the masses of tourism in Windsor. Food and service was very good so we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the boatman.

                  Lovely setting by the Thames. Good menu - something for everyone. Our multigenerational group ages 15 to 80 were happy with their food. Waiting staff pleasant and efficient. The only thing to add was that other diners were smoking cigarettes and cigars at tables adjacent to ours which wasn't great when we were eating.

                  Service was a touch slow, but our meal pretty much ended when one of our party found a huge piece of clingfilm inside the chicken. Pretty grim. We raised it and ask for the manager but they were too busy. Asked for the bill and left, and will likely never return. Cote on the other side of the river will be a far better option.

                  We had another amazing meal at the Boatman. It’s an annual trip for us ahead of going into Royal Ascot and as usual they didn’t disappoint. Starters, main and even managed a dessert and everything was delicious plus the staff are lovely and service is good

                  Fabulous as always - this venue never fails in the quality of food and service - nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

                  Venue is lovely and staff are friendly. It was a lovely lunch however two main courses the chicken was dry and there was a very large wait between starters and main.
