Please note, guest request are not guaranteed. You can request to be seated on the terrace, but it's not guaranteed as these tables are open to the elements. On a sunny day, tables are allocated outside based on the date the booking was made (early birds!) We will do our upmost to accommodate you outside if we can. Please call us on the day to see where you will be seated as special requests are not guaranteed. We have zero tolerance for aggressive behaviour.

The Boatman, is Windsor’s only pub on the river at the foot of Windsor Castle overlooking Eton Bridge. Serving freshly cooked food all day everyday from midday to 9pm at night, in the cosy bar, restaurant or in the stunning riverside all-weather conservatory, there is a fine selection of wine, ales, cocktails to choose from.
The bar area and terrace is dog friendly, we cannot accept any pets in the conservatory or restaurant.

A lovely place to eat in Windsor by the river. Super service and yummy food. Definitely go back again.

Our party of 11, celebrating a family members birthday was exceptional. The staff were superb and nothing was too much trouble, down to a little thing such as candles for the birthday cake. The food was world class and the chef(s) should be rewarded with a Michelin star or two. Steaks, fish and chicken cooked to perfection and even our most fussy eater was impressed. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Boatman and highly recommend it to any future diners.

Beautiful location right by the river. We sat in the conservatory which was bright, clean & very welcoming. Great choice on the menu, good size portions. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely return.

The food was incredible , we had the tuna steak and it was cooked perfectly! Service was very good, would recommend going here

Food was terrible. Burger consisted of a bun and reheated chicken only. Chips were cooked in old oil. Salad was old and soggy.

We had lunch on a Tuesday. Chips are excellent 10/10. Haddock had just the right amount of batter. Brie starter was good. Chicken liver pate starter was also good. We’ll come again.

The service started really well and we were having a nice time catching up until we ordered coffees after our meal when we were asked to vacate our table and sit at the bar to have our coffees as they said our table had a reservation and they needed the table. The restaurant was empty apart from us and another couple so not sure why they needed to have our table. However we complied with their request and packed up our stuff. We had to pay the bill before the coffees arrived and we went to the bar. We asked to split the bill and they charged my friend the whole lot, just under 100. When we said to the waitress we had asked to split it she said she hadn't heard and it was too late payment had been taken and walked away. To make matters worse our coffees arrived stone cold. We left 20 minutes late and no one was sat at our original table.

Nice location on the river. Food was a cut above normal pub fare, but not fine dining. Difficult to get the attention of servers particularly given we were there at a very much off peak time (245pm)

Ordered hamburger. Not the best, dry meat and quite tasteless. No dressing on the burger and salad etc was set on the side. Had higher expectations.
