A Historical Coaching Inn with Traditional bar and a formal dining room; both with its own character.

We serve a great selection of pub classics, using as much produce from the nearby Ripley Castle Estate & Gardens as possible. Our chefs are constantly inspired to create special dishes to take advantage of the 2000 acre Estate and extensive Walled gardens produce.

We serve a selection of popular local real ales and have guest beers on a regular basis including some rare gems, so there is always a reason to pop into the bar.

There is a well structured and varied wine list suitable for all levels of wine drinker from affordable afternoon drinking through to more powerful and exquisite wines, which can be matched to our dishes to create a full dining experience.

We cater for any number of guests from couples to larger parties, families and dog friendly tables in the bar.

Please note we are unable to reserve tables outdoors.

We had an amazing dining experience for both breakfast and dinner. The food, drink, and service was top notch!

Very good Sunday lunch we were seated in the Restaurant area which was a lot quieter than the Bar area. Food was very good and wholesome,rare roast beef, large home made Yorkshires,wife had Roast Pork,and it was very generous in portion size. I had to help her finish it lol. lovely al-dente veg carrots green beans mash roasts and red cabbage with cauliflower cheese. Quite a plateful for less than Twenty Pounds each at time of writing October 2024. Service excellent with no service charge on the bill, but certainly deserved the tip left. Price of a Pint over Five Pounds but very good quality and very well served and that's par now in any higher end Restaurants anywhere. proof is its always full and booking ahead a must.Hard to find fault

Visited for Harrogate Restaurant Week. Staff really helpful and accommodating. Good value set menu with generous Yorkshire portions! Nice veggie option & good range of beers on tap. Thank you very much, team Boar's Head, we will return.

The food was fairly standard pub grub but attractively presented and nicely hot.. We had a dog so ate in the bar but the tables were well spaced and it was not noisy. Parking was difficult and I had to drop off my wife and then park further away. The entrance had low steps but there may have been an alternative for disabled people. Overall we enjoyed our meals and would go again. It is handy for Ripley Castle and country walks.

A fantastic Sunday roast! I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve had in a very long time. Staff were friendly and the ambience good.
