A resplendent thatched-roof Inn, located in the heart of Devon, two miles from the coastal town of Sidmouth. With eight recently renovated rooms, the Blue Ball is a snuggly, seaside treat of a place. Locally sourced seafood specials are the order of the day, supplied by renowned Cornish fishmonger Flying Fish, coupled with a well-stocked bar of real ales, liveners & pick me ups! Our cosy corners, eccentric finishing touches and curiosities make for quite the venerable experience. Only heightened by our splendid rear garden which promises to provide a welcome haven.

Lovely Sunday roast. Our waitress was particularly good, Alex I think - we’re aware how difficult it is to find good serving staff so she was a delight. Food was 8/10. Belly pork very good. Cauliflower cheese under cooked for our taste. Will definitely return.

We have had lunch at the blue ball several times and have always been very satisfied with the food and the service. We had the meal and a drink deal for £12 and it was a really lovely lunch. The serving staff were very polite and attentive. Thanks to everyone. Keep up the good work.

We were seated away from the bar and whilst it was tidy the area lacked atmoshpere and was drafty. The roast was very plain and lacked a home made quality. It went cold very quickly in the drafty room. Heavily overpriced for the quality

We are on holiday in Sidmouth and visited the Blue Ball Inn twice. Both times were lovely. The meal was fantastic and the staff very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend 💯

Me and my wife had Lamb Rump ,which we sent my wife’s back because she could not cut it with a steak Knife it was all fat and grizzle and would just not cut mines was only slightly better but not Passable all in all we will never use the Blue Ball the 2 meals cost £45 .00. Which is a lot for OAP ,we don’t mind if it was nice but it wasAbsolutly Disgusting 😡😡😡😡😡

Thank You for your review, we take all reviews on board. I am a little lost why you haven't mentioned that we did sort out the problem and you chose another dish. Fish and chips I believe, also you did say that your meal was fine, we don't really get a lot of problems with the Lamb rump but as it a butchers cut, their is sometimes a little bit of fat in the cut. but we would normal notice this and cut it out. so once again we are sorry you didn't enjoy your meal but we would of also sorted yours out if you have not said yours is fine. Thanks Jason

Have usually had a very good roast beef dinner but this week the beef was chewy also had a lot of fat and griselle around the edge. So much gravy on yorkshire pudding which made it soft and soaky. A big disappointment after using your restaurant several times
