A resplendent thatched-roof Inn, located in the heart of Devon, two miles from the coastal town of Sidmouth. With eight recently renovated rooms, the Blue Ball is a snuggly, seaside treat of a place. Locally sourced seafood specials are the order of the day, supplied by renowned Cornish fishmonger Flying Fish, coupled with a well-stocked bar of real ales, liveners & pick me ups! Our cosy corners, eccentric finishing touches and curiosities make for quite the venerable experience. Only heightened by our splendid rear garden which promises to provide a welcome haven.

Service was quick and with a smile. Nice ambiance. My daughter had the children's chicken roast but I found the vegetable selection to be more limited than the adults and the peas were like bullets 🙃 We ordered an extra side of cauliflower, it was delicious but tiny which for 4.50 is disappointing!

Vegetables few and to al dente. Loch trout not expected. Unable to have new potatoes although on the menu. Trout dish needed a sauce. Confusion as to where drinks for outside could be ordered.

A lovely Sunday roast with a home made crumble afterwards. Service very friendly and they took good care of our dog

Our first time back after a few years and was lovely came out very full up and even very accommodating with some small fussy eaters

After dinning here for many years, unfortunately on this occasion our meals were very disappointing. We ordered a lamb dish and found the lamb inedible. It was difficult to cut and impossible to chew. We drew this to the waiters attention and asked him to mention it to the chef and we received no feed back. This experience has made us reluctant to return.

I'm pleased you were checked back on by our staff but disappointed that nothing was rectified at point. I have spoken to the waiting staff on duty at the time of your visit and showed them this review, it is so important that they follow through with resolving any issues straight away so our guests have an enjoyable experience.
