Heirloom is a full-service restaurant that is located in the historic Athenaeum Hotel on the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. From June 22nd - August 24th we offer breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. On Sundays we have a wonderful brunch buffet and offer a buffet dinner only.

Starting May 1st a lounge menu is available 11am - 9pm daily. Reservations are not required for prior to June 22nd.

Absolutely deplorable dining experience; an hour to get our food, cold when arrived, no refreshing of beverages. A waste of our time and money. No effort was made to correct or rectify this abhorrent experience.

Menu items too limited. Only 1 soup, Lobster Bisque, need daily variety. Overall menu boring. Selection not usually 'cooked to order' Often some item on plate cold, i.e. not warm. Prices a step above value. Most patrons are trapped as guests of hotel. The food, ambiance, is not sufficient to make special drive to this venue.

The atmosphere and feel of the hotel was well worth the visit. Parking was free with valet and admission through the south lot was a bonus. Getting to the hotel was a little bit of a challenge. Food was excellent off the menu. We didn’t do the buffet. Highly recommended.

The food was good, not great. I ordered salmon that was supposed to have crispy skin. It was a nice piece of salmon baked just right, with the normal soggy skin.

We were delighted with the Heirloom Restaurant. We sat on a lovely porch and enjoyed excellent food and very fine service. Both the chef and the manager visited our table. We look forward to our next visit.

Dined there Friday, July 19th. Amazing view, incredible food, solid service. The lobster ravioli was especially good.

We had excellent service. We were there for the Frankie Valli concert, and our waitress suggested the buffet, which was $55 each. It was a little pricey, but when you're eating at a five-star hotel, that's to be expected. It was a prime-rib buffet with lots of other options, including vegan and gluten-free. The dessert option was also vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free.

Our dining experience was mixed. The food was mostly good, but the service was lacking. We waited 15 minutes to make a drink order. Drinks didn’t arrive until after our first course was served, a good 35-40 minutes after we sat down. Our salad came without dressing, though it was good. One of our drinks (a white Negroni) was dilute and quite tasteless. And the wait staff failed to return to ask if we wanted any other drinks (such as a glass of wine with the meal) until we were essentially finished eating. The restaurant was not that full, but there clearly was inadequate staffing-/ not enough wait staff but several hosts.
