The Black Penny Covent Garden is a unique cosy café, with bare brick walls, only a stones throw away from Covent Garden. Gourmet brunch is at the heart of what The Black Penny is famous for. Signature dishes include 'The Hunter' & 'The Gatherer', which is our take on the full English breakfast. Other signature dishes include 'Wild Mushroom Polenta Hash', 'Salt Beef' and 'Crispy Duck' hashes (try pairing with some of our fine wines and Penny cocktails). If you fancy something sweet try 'The Brioche French Toast'. Speciality coffee created at the hands of the skilled baristas is what keeps regulars coming back for their daily caffeine fix. In the mornings through lunch you can expect The Black Penny to be a popular go to café. The Black Penny values sustainability, therefore we work closely with London's best companies to ensure we meet these values. Great breakfast! So good we came back for a second visit and it was just as good as the first. Our son considered the breakfast beans a life changing revelation! Highly recommend.

Food was good Service rather rude and inflexible No standard breakfast staples (hash browns, avocado) Did not show us the bill before paying (no opportunity to check service charge)

Lovely food but slightly strange rule about not being allowed to use Laptops in the seating area!

This place was ok. Food choices were a bit limited and seating was both uncomfortable and we kept having the line to the bathroom wrap around our table. Waitress was a bit difficult to understand due to a heavy accent but was friendly.
