This restaurant will not disappoint. Higher end food for a special occasion or for those who are foodies and appreciate good wine and a fine chef. We went to celebrate a birthday and were visiting Dunedin from NC. Someone recommended this restaurant but we were not expecting it to be as fine dining as it was but we were pleasantly surprised. The wines were amazing and the restaurant only had 11 tables so the service was the best. We had the filet and sea bass and also the lobster risotto as starter which was great to split as amazing tastes but is very rich/filling. We look forward to making this a special night out every time we visit Dunedin.

Everything here is top notch, the food is consistently excellent. Apps, soups, salads, entrees, everything. Place is small and intimate so you will need reservations. Service is consitently excellet, Sean is one of the best waiters we have ever experienced and we have dined in restaurants all over the world. The whole staff is great.

The Black Pearl is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the elegant ambiance and warm hospitality of the staff. The menu was a masterpiece of culinary artistry, featuring exquisite dishes that showcased the freshest ingredients and impeccable technique. Our journey began with the lobster truffle risotto, a symphony of flavors that danced on the palate. The black pearl salad, with its warm poppy seed vinaigrette, was a refreshing and light appetizer that perfectly prepared us for the main course. The Chilean Sea Bass Lyonnaise was a revelation, cooked to perfection and served with a rich and flavorful sauce. The Pappardelle Bolognese was a classic dish executed with exceptional skill, the pasta tender and the sauce rich and satisfying. A delicate palette cleanser of an orange and cream tarragon popsicle. To complement our meal, the sommelier expertly paired each course with a glass of wine, enhancing the flavors and creating a harmonious dining experience. The Bananas Foster dessert was the perfect finale, a decadent and indulgent treat that satisfied us completely. The Black Pearl is more than just a restaurant; it's a destination for food lovers who appreciate exceptional cuisine and impeccable service. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Excellent food and service- worthy of a Michelin star. Jay was most helpful in wine selection and entree’s. Always a consistent favorite restaurant.
