Historic Appeal: The Black Horse has been a pub since at least 1761, housed in a Grade II listed building dating back to the 16th century.

Probably one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in years. Lovely building, staff and food. Will definitely return!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. We had a friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Gluten free was not a problem. The team were efficient and timing was perfect. The ambience was great. Portions were great and yorkshires were huge! We enjoyed the selection of vegetables that came with it. The pudding selection was a little limited so some of us ended with ice cream but a nice choice of flavours so not really a problem. So nice we stayed here for hours!

Had a Sunday toast which was delicious! We had the lamb and beef, I am usually fussy about roasts as I live my own. But this was amazing. Dog friendly too.

lovely pub with great local atmosphere, food was top notch we had fish and chip which was so much better then anything local to us

Booked on-line , really easy. Black Horse pub is a lovely country pub, warm and chilled atmosphere. Food was really good. Great pub would definitely recommend 😊

We arrived for a pre-booked dinner, finding the bar populated but by no means busy. We ordered Camembert followed by four tapas-y small plates. The Camembert arrived after 30 minutes, accompanied by bread which had either been heated or allowed to get cold, or was simply stale to start with. With that cleared, another 40 minutes elapsed before the small plates arrived, with temperatures varying between lukewarm and cold. We had asked for some vegetables which appeared to have been forgotten, but were at least hot when they arrived. We hadn't eaten here for a decade, having experienced poor service, we will not be returning.

We’re truly disappointed that none of these concerns were raised with us during your visit, as we would have done our utmost to rectify the situation on the spot. After investigating, we found that the timings mentioned seem overly inflated. According to our live booking system and checking with kitchen tickets, your total time from arrival to departure was 73 Mins, not the lengthy delays described, We pride ourselves in freshly cooked food using the very best ingredients. Nevertheless, we appreciate your comments and will certainly use them to improve our service where needed. We hope you will reconsider and give us another opportunity in the future. Warm regards

amazing food made by the chef Jamie with very generous portions, and incredible service from the lovely staff Jodie, Sinead and Emily. The live music topped the night off with the great atmosphere.
