A classic British pub in the heart of the countryside, close to Castle Coch. We offer a selection of ales, ciders and lagers for the thirsty mountain biker. We pride ourselves on home cooked meals with fresh, local produce - our chips have been rated the best in South Wales! With a range of menu items to please every appetite, including our chefs specials that change daily, The Black Cock Inn offers a warm and friendly welcome to those travelling by foot, car or bike!
We have a dog friendly bar area, as well as an outdoor play park and plenty of seating in our beer garden, perfect for the "sunny" Welsh weather.

The food was probably the best pub meal I’ve ever had. Burger and chips sounds easy but so many places don’t get it right. Can’t recommend this place enough. Kids and husbands meals were also delicious.

Very nice food as usual but I thought the beef seemed a little tough, not the usual cut & looked different but other than that great 👍

Great food, service, and welcome you will not be disappointed. I enjoy my food, this was one of the tastiest Sunday dinners I have had in a long, long time. Well done to the team your efforts are very much appreciated.

First time booking here as stated nearby for a wedding. A little daunting driving down the road in the dark but arriving at the place made up for it. First impression was very cosy. The staff were helpful and friendly and extremely helpful. The food was outstanding- our compliments to the chef. A few in our group only wanted a small meal and the staff were happy for them ordering a starter as mains. I can only recommend 🤩

The Black Cock Caerphilly was recommended by a friend and we were very happy with everything apart from one issue.. What surprised us was the fact that when we were seated at our table the young man did not tell us that we had to order at the bar. This resulted in us sitting there for quite a while until we saw people leaving their table and I enquired from them what the policy was. I was then informed by a customer that we need to order at the bar. This resulted in quite a long wait time for our meals to arrive as we were at the back of the queue. Other than this we were very happy and we will be back.

Lovely food and service and 2 main meals with a free bottle of wine - Wednesday deal. Had Korean chicken strips meal and hake, chips and curry sauce. All delicious and great chips. Bottle of Sauvignon blanc and a pint of Guinness £33.00 Really good and highly recommend

Quick service, food hot and plentiful, had the Roast Turkey followed by chocolate fudge cake, lovely. Highly recommend the cauliflower cheese. Will definitely be returning.

2 roast beef superb. Wife had the turkey superb. 3 starters very good. Service excellent. Lovely people. All in all very very good.
