Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

Everything was great. My wife and I had the Sunday Sharing Board. It was delicious and we were well stuffed! Really nice atmosphere, decor and service. Highly recommend.

A gorgeous place very welcoming. Sunday roast had potential to be amazing but unfortunately components were lukewarm & others hot. Bakewell tart looked amazing but wow poor lacked any kind of flavour at all. Some staff on the ball others hard to get attention. Will try again as it’s a lovely place but need to tighten standards and service slightly

Won't be returning. Shown to a large round table with uncomfortable chairs so asked to move into the bar area. Starters were lovely but main courses a disaster. Husband ordered cheese pie but got a chicken pie. I ordered a ceaser salad, was asked if I wanted soft boiled egg and anchovies, it came with neither. Was brought a soft boiled egg out when half way through salad but got a shock as it was ice cold, not recommended for soft boiled eggs. Refused to pay for my salad and ruined what should have been a nice lunch.

Staff very friendly and warned us before ordering about the wait time for the pie but the food and ambience more than made up for it! Also very accommodating with letting us move from the restaurant to the bar after eating.

My Mum and I visitedyesterday, for the first time. We had the Gambas Pil Pil to start which was incredible. The prawns were huge and succulent and the chilli oil was delicious with just the right amount of mild spice. We had the Sunday Roast sharing platter and we were both blown away by the quality of the food. The beef was cooked to perfection and tasted insanely good, the Ham was wonderful, the Yorkshire puddings were amazing, the gravy was beautiful with a delicate herby flavour, the cauliflower cheese was creamy and devine, and every other item on the board was outstanding too. We loved the "sharing board" concept as we could pick and choose what we wanted and how much we wanted. We had the Sticky toffee pudding for dessert and that was just heavenly. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Every staff member had a smile and were helpful and kind. Each course arrived quickly and served with a friendly smile by the waiting staff and they were quick to clear our plates once we had finished. The Inn itself is stunning and has a rustic, charm to it. It has to be the best restaurant I've visited for Sunday lunch and the staff there made our experience even more enjoyable. We plan to visit again with more of our family. Just incredible.

As a solo diner, it can often be easy to appear as 'hidden' to staff when service is busy. This was absolutely not the case yesterday when, after an extended hospital bedside visit, I arrived early, tired and in need of nourishing food. Thanks to each staff member for looking after me!

Arrived for dinner for 2 people at 4pm. Was sat on a table for two, even though we were the only people in the restaurant. Service varied between very poor (we were sat in a corner and I think we were forgotten about) and attentive. There are only 5 main courses, excluding burgers, pies and steaks. The food is well presented and very tasty.
