Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

First visit today, just a notch above other gastro pubs in the area. Warm welcome and really lovely atmosphere. Awesome Christmas decorations and the food was excellent. Need to visit again many times to go through the menu!

We had our first visit to the black bull last Sunday, after a friend recommended it to us, and we can’t wait too go back there, even it is a 45 minute drive it is well the travel. The restaurant had a warm, cosy and friendly feel, the service was excellent with very friendly and polite staff, and most importantly the food was amazing. Three courses of outstanding food, absolute bargain. I recommend the Sunday sharing platter it was so tasty and plentiful. Will be going back there very soon.

As usual everything was perfect, the whole place looks wonderful with all all the Christmas decorations up, the tree is amazing, add a log fire for the perfect setting. We had the Sunday lunch sharing plater which was delicious and really good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful, it is absolutely one of our favourite places to eat.

Fabulous food. Excellent value for money. Epic service from all members of staff. Very friendly and attentive from the second you enter the Black Bull. We saw Dan on Master Chief and decided we must try it. We enjoyed it so much we came back for our second visit two weeks later

I would have gave this place a 10 out of 10. Everything with the food was brilliant apart from one minor detail and the service wasn’t up to scratch on the night for me. Firstly the meal was good apart from the beef (main part of my Sunday dinner) was tough to chew. It ruined the meal as it’s the best part. If it wasn’t for the lamb being 10/10 I would have complained on the spot (not a complainer) For service overall excellent. What didn’t allow me to give 5 stars was because when I entered no one was there to great us or even a sign to say where to go. I ended up going to bar and waiting for 10 minutes before the bar staff asked what I wanted. Poor service this you need to make people feel welcome. Other than this the waiter was brilliant with us. This none perfect experience hasn’t put me off trying again. I may try again in the future and hopefully they serve me good beef.

I am always doubtful about going to restaurants on my own and at 81 I think I stand out a bit, I didn't get that feeling at the Black Bull. All the staff I came into contact with were quite sociable. Starter was perfection, Halloumi Fries, and I've never had Roast Lamb for a long time but I got a big plateful of food which for my appetite was a bit too much, nothing wrong with that it was good and at £34 for 2 courses reasonable but £8 for a large glass of Merlot, that was a lot, but I enjoyed so what the hell Used to go in the Bull over 60yrs ago when I worked at the then Brockhall hospital, obviously it has changed since then and is now a quality restaurant,
