Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

Quick service to our table, quick with the drinks order and the menu selection and specials are good - market fish sold out but no biggie. The shared starter allowed everyone's choice and the main courses were devoured soon enough. Good checking as to our needs so a good experience and good value. Thank you!

You will never go wrong at the Black Bull. I attended for a business meeting with clients. Becky and the team were as always suitably attentive acknowledging our requirements for drinks initially as opposed to food - which was to be ordered on conclusion of the meeting. Service was excellent with all waitresses were smart, happy and keen to please. As we were concluding a huge group walked into the pub on spec and despite immediate and unexpected demand I could see the team jump into action and accommodate their needs whilst ensuring we were undisturbed. They recommended we order before the group to prevent delays. Saying this we did not feel rushed and having concluded the meeting I left my clients pondering over the delights of the menu. The Black Bull was a great place for a lunchtime meeting whereby my clients could then enjoy the rest of their afternoon over food and drinks.

We had our intimate wedding meal here , just four of us . It was just beautiful from start to finish , flowers on the table , confetti, complimentary drinks and a voucher, all which was a lovely surprise .The food was outstanding as was the service. It made our day just perfect and complete . Thankyou so much .

Food was good, but not exceptional, and not worth £20 a course. Sorry to say it was too expensive a treat for us, so we won’t be returning.

The staff were Welcoming and friendly. They took us straight to our table. The food choices were lovely. We ordered the chateau briand which was to die for!! Gorgeous!!! Would definitely go again

All great apart from asking for and never getting table water three times it was a great experience. Maybe asking if water is required would be good practice. Otherwise 5 stars

Poor choice of menu, very limited and poor quality. Embarrassing to bring American visitors for good British food. Very noisy. Squashed at a table next to a large party. Will not be returning.

Beautiful place, service walking in and Initial drink order was great. Service deteriorated after this. No follow up on meals, my partner had one drink all night as no one was present. A large group was In that made the atmosphere very noisy. All 4 tables around us was making the same comments- But that’s no fault of the venue. Got a 5 selection starter platter- got 2/3 of everything apart form the sausages. Taste fantastic but value was hard to justify at £35. We then got a chateaubriand medium. It came out rare and not very warm. We then sent it back and came back medium rare. For me this is fine however my partner isn’t keen. Personal taste. Again for £95 I struggle to see the value compared to experiences help at other restaurants. Didn’t get offered desserts or coffee which we would have liked. Shame as we had high expectations as we heard great things. May have just been an off day.
