The Bistro offers a variety of private event spaces for a wide range of group sizes. Within the restaurant itself, intimate private dining spaces welcome groups of up to 35 people. All 4 of us thought our appetizers and entrees were good but not up to the Bistro’s previous high standards. The pork chop, in particular, was disappointing. Several of us eat out regularly, share a love of a really good pork chop and debate which restaurant serves the best one - it serves as a benchmark for a worthwhile dining experience. Since its opening several years ago, Bistro’s chop has consistently been one of the top 2 (The Kitchen’s being the other favorite). Last night’s Bistro chop wouldn’t even rank top 5.

Our experience was affected by table assignment. Upon arrival, we checked in and were initially assigned a table, but shortly after, the front staff decided to change table assignment and move us to another one without explanation. The new table was far less comfortable and did not meet our expectations, leaving us unsatisfied from the start. We did ask for a table change and we were offered a high chair table, although there were a lot of standard dining tables empty. PS, we made the reservation 2-3 weeks ago.

We had a very good meal -- the New York Strip was very tender, juicy, and done slightly more than medium rare, but still excellent for our tastes. French fries were crisp and tasty and the steak's pepper sauce was excellent, although would have liked a little more of it. We also had the caesar salad which was very fresh and lightly dressed, although not the best caesar we've ever had. Service was excellent.

We asked for a quieter table-almost impossible at the Bistro in season, but they accomplished it by seating us at a table in the hotel lobby - BRILLIANT! The soft live music was an added bonus!

One of our go to places when we are in Jackson. The food is consistently very good. Service is amazing. The location on the square is great for an after dinner walk year round. The staff always makes us feel like family. Best oysters around!!! Moule frites....to die for. Worth every calorie.
