At Ocean House, our classic American Bistro menu invites guests and visitors to enjoy casual, seasonally inspired dishes. Available for breakfast, lunch and dinner in The Bistro, Bar and Lounge, and in the members-only Club Room and Club Terrace, the Bistro menu offers traditional brasserie fare with a New England flavor. Begin your morning with inspired breakfast classics, fresh pastries or a colorful spread inspired by the season’s bounty. For lunch and dinner, a selection of starters and entrees are simply prepared and presented, with an emphasis on fresh local meats and sustainable seafood.

We are currently staying at The Ocean House - both the hotel and the restaurants are beautiful. However, The Bistro, in our opinon, is the low point for the hotel. The food at The Bistro is marginal - not bad… but also nothing to get excited about. The service was horrible and incredibly slow, taking over 3 hours for our family to have dinner. The restaurant was not full by any means yet still we almost never saw our sever except to take our order and to deliver our bill. Our water glasses were often empty leaving us to get the attention of random restaurant employees to fill our water and bar drinks took no less that 20 minutes to be served. We were not alone in this experience, we noticed a family that was seated at the table next to ours 45 minutes before we left the restaurant still had not been served any food. Finally, when trying to make reservations on open table prior to our arrival, the restaurant reported the earliest availability as 8:45 pm yet when we arrived, the concierge was easily able to provide us with a 6:30 reservation.

Scallops were undercooked and sent back. Great when returned. Short ribs were excellent! Service was a bit slow but not frustrating. My only disappointment was I had requested a romantic table with a view as it was our anniversary and we were seated in the corner of two walls with no view.

Extremely disappointed. We went to this restaurant for our 24th wedding anniversary. We did not receive our food for at least one hour. My husband ordered meat cooked medium. He was given meat that was extremely rare. The waitress did not check to see if our meal was ok. In addition, we ordered an appetizer that never made it to our table.

Great place to eat. Atmosphere is perfect for any special occasion. Waitresses and wait staff are excellent. Would highly recommend.

Great location and atmosphere, very disappointing food. Steak was way over cooked, and sides were stone cold.

We had a delicious lunch inside, and the atmosphere was quiet and easy for us to talk. The food was only exceeded by the service. However a highlight for us was getting to meet Cameron Greer, the wonderful hard-working pastry chef. We had a sampler of his desserts and they were all incredible! They make everything in house, and he couldn’t have been nicer or more patient about answering our questions!

Mary, our waitress, was perfect!! Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, on the sit with everything, never needed to go looking for her. The food was above our expectations. Love the entire staff from the valet to the hostess to our waitress.

We attended the "Jazz Brunch" for an anniversary celebration on 6/23. The food, and surroundings were outstanding. We came not only for the food, but for the music as well. Unfortunately, there was no music playing during our brunch which was a major disappointment, but not a dealbreaker.
