We took a detour from our roadtrip back home to be able to eat here, however for just 2 appetizers and 2 entrees the whole time at le bistro LaBelle Amherst was 2 hours. We spent way too much time waiting for the food. Our server did not inform of any delay And no one else came to ask us if we were ok. The place was not even half full. The staff was nice, however we felt they were not efficient enough and the waiting times were longer than any other restaurant.

We arrived early for our reservation, since we were early we decided to do a wine tasting first...The hostess said she would hold our table til we were ready to sit down. BTW, we sat down at the reservation time. Once seated we waited and waited...It took about 45 minutes before someone came over...I asked some simple questions about menu items which I thought she should know like, is your hamburger meat fresh or has it been frozen, also the size of the burger...she didn't know...Hubby had the onion soup which he said was one of the worst. hey charged for bread, really! I was looking for refill for water, waited and waited. it took so long for our meal to arrive...Hubby said no return here....

The cheese plate appetizer was delicious. My wife had the lamb and I had the braised cod and both were absolutely PHENOMENAL. The salad with watermelon was perfect with a Reisling vinaigrette. Best meal we’ve had in years, the chef’s really know what they are doing, we’ll be back soon!!
