THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Homemade and better than some that we’ve had overseas! 12/10 delicious AND fun fact, after prohibition, they received the #1 Liquor license in Chicago…. Service was prompt and friendly. Going back again before we head home.

Great food. Early after work dinner, dining room was quiet, staff was friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Looking forward to going back soon!

We went for the historic building vibes and the amazing German food and got both! My favourite was the egg roll reuben and my husband’s favourite was the root beer!

The sausage trio is always the best! Love the sauerkraut. We also got the schnitzel and we tried the Hungarian Goulash on our server's rec--and that might have been our favorite! We also love the creamed spinach and the mashed potatoes. We got extra on the side! The root beer is always a win. We went home with a 4 pack. Don't skip dessert! We had the strawberry rhubarb cobbler--YUM! And the German Chocolate cake, of course, a must.

Food was good, but bland. Appreciated having Gluten-Free Options, just wish there were more traditional fare choices that were offered GF.

The Berghoff is a Chicago icon. My dad was a regular in the days before women were allowed and the waiters were all male too. Eventually my mother and I could accompany my father to a special part of the restarant where we could have lunch with my father. Then, and now, the food was superb! Don't miss the root beer and even the diet root beer has that same flavor of times gone by. Potato pancakes are crispy and light and the salmon perfectly prepared. Meat eaters will love all the traditional fare. All in all, a wonderful visit to a fantastic and historical place!
