Have been dining at the Berghoff for more than 50 years and although they have modified and modernized certain traditional German entrees, the standard entrees maintain authentic flavor. Hope that Berghoff’s and rest of loop restaurants return to pre-pandemic business.

Great food, honestly the fact that I haven't gone here before is insane. This food is so comforting. The restaurant has these incredible paintings around the tops of the walls too look at. They have their own root beer which comes in diet as well which was a nice surprise and treat. The fish and chips was so flakey and soft.

I have lived in the Chicago area for 45 years and The Berghoff remains my favorite Chicago restaurant. I have tried many places over the years but for good food, service, ambiance and value you cannot beat The Berghoff.

Our food was only mediocre. Used to go here all the time in the 80’s and 90’s. My corned beef was good, but the overall sandwich was dry. Service was excellent.

Great reminiscing at Berghoff’s this weekend….last there 50 years ago! The room…beautifully unchanged. The service…wonderfully efficient….the food…amazingly as excellent as I remember it in the 70’s. It’s so great that at least some good things don’t change!

It was our first visit to Chicago. We Ate at the Berghoff the first night and it got our trip off to a great start. The food was authentic and delightful; our server ,Susan, was outstanding. Our cocktails,Bourbon Old Fashions, were the best we ever had and a German restaurant even knew how to make a good Irish Coffee.
