The restaurant is named after America’s most famous founding father, Benjamin Franklin. While he was pinnacle in America’s birth, he also became the first ambassador to France. While on trips to Paris, he would wine and dine with the best of them and when he returned, he would bring back the French culture, food and wine, and share it with our new nation. Dishes like Potato Lyonnaise and Crème Brulée were the first of his favorites he shared with America. The Benjamin reflects that bridged gap between the two countries’ cultures. The restaurant and bar is french-inspired, but uniquely American. It sits in Ridgefield's historic district in a 1875 house, but the interiors are modern, elegant and new. Chef prepares dishes like Mussels, Foie Gras, Shrimp Toast, Chicken, Halibut, Duck, and more.

It’s a lovely place and food and service are excellent, but it took a very long time for dinner to arrive. Plan on spending a couple hours for your meal.

The Benjamin consistently delivers a quality menu. I ordered the White Linen cocktail. My new summer favorite. The bartender is happy to give me his secrets on this DELICIOUS drink. We also ordered their crispy artichoke appetizer. Wow! Forget french fries. This stuff is crack! A final word on the wait staff - superb! Valerie catered to our interests throughout the meal as did the support staff. Truly, fine dining here!

We had a wonderful meal and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The cocktails and food were delicious and we enjoyed being outside on a beautiful night. The acoustic guitar player was good and not too loud. I thought it may be stuffy but was an enjoyable experience for our anniversary but I would return for a nice meal anytime. Thanks for a nice night!

The food was not good The waitress was clueless did not ask why we didn’t eat our food. We sent food back. Tuna and scallops, which was a special, very fishy. Very loud The host was extremely friendly

Great spot for wife’s birthday dinner. Love the whimsical paintings and prints of Ben Franklin. Unique delicious cocktails. Nice wine list, with wide price options. Staff members were welcoming and knowledgeable. Our waitress had worked at various properties with this restaurant owner for twenty years! Food was excellent and well-paced. So glad we went!

My second and probably last time at this relatively new restaurant. The menu is relatively limited. The service was fine and the food good but not extraordinary. The biggest negative was the prices. They are imo excessive. You are charged $6 for 6 slices of bread. A glass of wine is $17. Most restaurants in Ridgefield are pricey but this one is at the top and not worth it.
